finding the right job after quiting a good one

I had a good job but my family needed help back in the province and had to leave. It seems that I'm stuck looking for a similar job, a job that my old company gave away. Time really takes it toll when no other job can compare with your usual old job. Where have you started to search when having in mind the job you want? Do you easily get bored with your old job? I just hope to find one fast.

My husband and I are in a similar situation right now. We worked together in the smae location for six years. New management came along and said that we were no longer allowed to work in the same place. I decided to leave because my husband made more money. I've been searching desperately for a new job for the past few weeks. I use my local newspaper, recommendations from friends and hotjobs.com to find available jobs. I've been trying to figure out what to do with my life for years. I really believe that deep down we all know what we want to do. It might seem impossible to get there, though. I think sometimes taking a big leap of faith is necessary! Good luck on your job hunt!

That must be a big change. I wouldn't get used to leaving the company since it has been six years you had the job. You really must have loved the job because you stayed in the company that long. Maybe a similar job might have sufficed. What kind of job did you leave?

When ever I was looking for a job I would usually go to employment agencies. They test you ahead of time so you don't have to test every time you interview, and they usually can match you up with a company where you will likely fit it. They can also secure interviews for you, where it is sometimes hard to get one when you are working on your own.

That is a good idea. I just have to start looking for a competent enough agency. I look forward to what they can match me up with.

it is really hard to find a good job... i mean the one that you would be happy and would like to stay. i guess it is just the way it is. the best you can do is be patient, and submit resumes to as much companies as you can. all work has its own ups and downs...

it may seem difficult to understand why you have to leave a good job. but for some cultures, people sacrifice a lot for their families. yours is also an example of that. i admire you for that. if you do that for your family, then finding a job will not be hard. if you feel good about your decision, it will reflect on your disposition and the law of attraction will be on your side. you will attract good things, including a good job. goodluck.

Hey there my friend! I can totally understand what you've been going through. We have a similar experience. I quit my last job because of family affairs. It was a real good. 2 months ago, I started looking for a new one and I got really confused as to what I wanted. Maybe that triggered me to just go out and try to look for it. But to no avail, I got more confused. I had little clue what I really wanted and the positions I applied for are different. It was my mistake though. I really liked my previous job and I had a hard time letting go. I eventually did and finally landed a job. So far, it has a good offer and I like the job description. It's my best start thus far. Take care and I with you all the best in looking for your new job! Take care!

I guess it is better than getting all worked up about it. At least I had not exchanged my work for the reason I started working. We have a lot of things discovered in life. I find it most enjoyable with the people you care about.
