This is a photo of the largest strawberry I have gotten from my patch this year. The wife and I went out back picking another bowl full today. there were quite a few large berries this time. A bunch also that had been eaten by bugs and rabbits. But this thing was huge and the best tasting one to date. How big of a strawberry have you grown? If not then, how big was the biggest you've eaten? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My gawd is right! How beautiful. My mouth absolutely watered looking at this. I haven't had much luck growing strawberries, myself. But I've eaten some fairly large store bought ones before.

I still wish mylot would let us see the picture before we respond via email. I have never grown strawberries and off hand not sure what the largest one is that I have had before. I have had some pretty large ones before at a party that were dipped in chocolate. Will go look at the picture now.

Oh yum! That looks sooo good! I was wondering how you kept all the flora and fauns away from your garden treasures. I guess they take their toll no matter what. But what a treat for the bunnies! I guess the biggest strawberry I ever ate came from a strawberry pie made from the restaurant Marie Callendar's. It used to be a really good place to eat around here, but the past couple years their food has lost its quality. Anyway, when they used to care about their food, their pies were simply magnificent! And the starwberries on top were whole ones, and they were always so big and yummy....

They don't get a lot to eat. For one reason Buster is outside a lot and they don't like him. And for another reason, I pick them every other day. Love her pies. Or their pies. Whichever. HAHAHA! Thanks also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Earlier this spring I bought some mamouth ones at the grocery store. They were so big my granddaughter thought there was something wrong with them and wondered if she could eat them! So it must have been a good crop this spring.

Now if that came out of your garden that is really something. That is a great picture of the strawberry, it looks so good. I know that they were really sweet. I have not garden so I enjoy looking at the one that you have pics of. I know that the rabbits have a good time eating in your garden. You have plenty for them to choose from. Happy growing and have a nice day. Oh, don't forget to take a picture of all the flowers in the yard.

Good gracious, that is one big strawberry! The only time I grew my own strawberries was when I was stationed in Massachusetts in the 80s. The house we bought had strawberry plants left from the previous owners. I didn't do anything with them (had one son, another on the way, on active duty and commuting two hours each day), but they did yield quite a bit and they were very big and oh yes, very tasty. You can bet that next year I'll be putting some strawberry plants in, wherever I happen to be.

Nice Sized - Two from a batch of large berries picked fresh 7-15-2008 in Minnesota.
Huge. We had to cut the top off due to a small bug hole eaten from it. So it was a lot bigger. I should have got a shot of it before we cut the top. But heres a shot of other big ones I did get. Good deal. They really spread quickly also. Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Something else that eats strawberries in your garden is turtles, the box turtle kind. The ornery critters will come take one bite out of the biggest and juiciest one in the whole bed. I used to have strawberries, at my other house. This yard has not lent itself well to gardening, and I have been here twenty years.
