This is a shot of my white astillibe. It is fully blossomed. It stands about 2 feet tall at the tip of these flowers. It is a very snowy white but with the rising sun it almost appears a slight yellow. Since I transplanted a few Astillibes behind the house in my back yard they seem to thrive in this area. I'll be adding a couple more late fall or early spring in my transplanting chore I am in the middle of this year. Howe often do you split plants and transplant them? How often do you cahnge the arrangement of your plants also? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have grown too many trees and it shades out all the areas where I used to plant, just about. I will be moving lots of things to the few sunny places in my yard this fall. I have not done it in a long long time. I have some that transplanted their self--Lambs Ears. I would like to collect and press the silvery gray leaves as I have seen a really pretty Christmas wreath made that way. They are all out by my front walk. I need to move peonies, day lilies, iris, and who knows what else.

Shaded Look - This is what they look like out of the direct sunlight.
A little editing to whiten the brown area though.
Here is what they look like without the sun beating down on them. The heat from the rays turn it brown so I edited some of the brown out to show the true color and highlights. I have Lady's Mantle which is fuzzy leaves that hold dew and water so weel and makes exceelent photos. I've about 30 Day Lilies surrounding one apple tree that need to be transplanted this fall. Made a mistake puting them around the tree. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Very pretty. I am not familiear with astillibe. Are they fuzzy feeling or more stiff. It is hard to tell from the picture. I wonder how they would like the Texas heat I have to contend with?

They are very fuzzy feeling. they do well in an area of partial shade. Too much sun and the leaves turn yellow and it stunts their growth. But it does get very hot and humid here so I think they'd do well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi Grandpa, You seem to make a full time job of gardening. That is a good thing. Sunshine is good for you, the excercise doen't hurt, and you get to reap in the rewards. I just wish I had the time and energy to do as you do. I do have a question though, can chrysanthums be split and transplanted? My husband has several of these and they are getting very bushy. This was his investment into our yard almost 2 years ago. They look so beautiful when they bloom. He has quite a variety of colors as well. Have a nice day..

I take care of my elderly father and am home all day long. As long as it isn't storming out or as long as it isn't hot and humid I am outdoors on and off doing something in my yard, garden, or flower beds. http://www.thegardenhelper.com/Chrysanthemum.htm This gives some tips on growing and transplanting etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

These are pretty, but i like your Lavender one better and it has nothing to do with the fact that my favorite colors are lavender and pink.
