I have been blessed with wonderful friends. Not a huge list, but the ones I have are good friends. It counteracts our bad luck streak :) This couple has been our friend for about 20 years. ANd throughout all those years they have showed many times how nice it is to have real friends. A nice word, picking me up at a time where I was hurt and lost and showing up with a rose together with a heartfelt hug... small and big things here and there that sometimes make me feel guilty that maybe I haven't been as good friend to them as they have been to me. But, as she sometimes reminds me, we do what we can, often they can do more, but I've been there for them too. On tuesday I woke up really early in the morning with the phone ringing. I was still half a sleep and not in a good mood to deal with the telemarketer on the other end and I guess I didn't pay attention when I ( thought) I ended the call and hid the phone under a bunch of pillows so it wouldn't wake me up again LOL. Quite a few hours later I was cleaning up and found the phone so I put it back for charging. As soon as I did it started ringing. It was our friend. The first thing I heard was " Finally!" I didn't understand until he told me they had both been trying to call me for quite some time, but it was always busy. Being half a sleep earlier I hadn't hang up the phone properly. THen he told me they had won a dishwasher and did I want their portable one. Did I? Of course I did, I guess I have expressed in here several times how much I miss my dishwasher LOL The thing is they had just bought it in May. THey could sell it for a nice price. " I didn't ask if you wanted us to sell it or not - he said - I just asked if you want it" He sometimes sounds a bit harsh but he's the gentlest person I know:)" But you guys can bring some beer over when you come to pick it up " They had already installed the one that they won which is a built in and taken the old one to the garage for us to pick up. And that's how I came to own a brand new portable dishwasher. It was so nice of them. THey know our life has been a bit complicated for some time and that money is not abundant and decided to give it to us instead of making good money selling it.
