then why do people keep scores? I was just wondering why people are very fond of betting and when they lose as life they lost their lives. Then you talk to them afterwards they will say its nothing. If its nothing why do they have to ask, who's winning? Why do they have to know how to beat an opponent? Funny, they will not show you that they are keeping track of the event but its always at their minds.
What about you? Is winning everything to you?

Well for me winning is not important. The most important thing in a game is you tried your very best while enjoying your game. It doesn't matter what the result may be as long as you enjoy yourself in your game. It's meaningless if you win the game but did not enjoy yourself.

Well, the saying isn't "winning is nothing." If your entire experience playing a game or sport, then you've likely missed out on some fun. But, winning is a pretty big bonus and lots of people are competitive by nature.
As for myself, I actually don't get into competitive situations that often. But, when I do, sure I hope to win. And, depending on how important the situation is, I may be a little or more than a little disappointed if I don't. But, I hope that even if I lose, I also get something else out of it and some enjoyable experience.

Hi leateagee,
I like to watch sports when my country is playing against another so I go all out for my country to win and if they don't I am very upset and that if you are competting in any sports you should ony think of winning if you don't what is the whole point? You must win that is the name of the game.

Winning isn't everything. But when I was growing up, my dad would play adult games with us (chess, scrabble, monopoly, etc) and wouldn't play DOWN to our level. He would play as though it were with an adult. Which made it really exciting the first time I ever won at Scrabble!!
So no, winning isn't everything, but its a great feeling to accomplish something like that!
