While the blog http://www.livescience.com/blogs/2008/07/09/the-obesity-olympics/ deals with various reasons for increasing obesity rate in the china, we must admit that it has become a global problem.. The food habit of ours have changed a lot, we have more high calorie foods, but do less work. I have heard my grand father saying that he used to walk 25 kilo metres, approximately 13 miles daily to work.. but now..i hardly walk more than a mile day. But i take high calorie foods. Secondly we start to think about our fitness only when we have already gained too much of weight. Its all the devil reciting scriptures..aren't we ?

Hi saivenkaat802003! I do agree that obesity rate is increasing. Most of us are unaware that we have been consuming many calories and much, much more than what is the recommended intake for each day. Then we have less exercise and movements. Most are infront of the computer. Gosh, I am one of those people who eats a lot and have less exercise. The only part of my body that exercise a lot are my fingers who types non stop. haha..Oooops, not really a laughing matter when health is at stake. I want to think seriously with my health as I am getting older. And I have been preparing meals daily that consists of vegetables, fish and fruits only. I only prepare meat on rare occasions. I am still convincing myself to do an hour of brisk walking regularly and I haven't convinced myself yet. haha.. Take care and God Bless!

I hardly ever walk also. I do have a treadmill and an exercise bike to use though. I never have time to use them though because I work seven days a week. I work alot of hours and when I have time to use either one of them, I am too tired. I hope to get caught up on some bills eventually so we won't have to work all of the time.

hi saiven! really??? is that right? wow! and i thought the chinese are very health conscious! my in-laws are chinese who are living here in the philippines. and they are very health conscious. and that is what my sister in law in china also said. that the chinese are very careful with what they eat etc etc. so it is really a surprise that obesity is rising there. is it because of the computer generation? people are becoming lethargic as well? good day!
