Yum, I ahvent had homemade chips in years. My mother used to make them ocassionally. I dont want to splatter myself and I am not sure if I have ever made them, if I have it hasnt been recently. My husband doesnt really care for fried foods so he ight not enjoy as much as I might, but I might give them a whirl sometime. I do remember making vegetables tempura style one time. They were ok.

thanks for your reply hun, what a shame your hubby donest like them from time to time as you love them..you should try them and see what you think..hun all you do is heat oil up and get a big serving spoon put the chips on that then slowly put them in the oil bit by bit that way you wont SPLATTER yourself.. hugsssssssssssssss

I am sure that if I asked him to kiss my feet and then I wouldmake him some homemade chips, his lips would be heading towards my toenails within seconds!hubby adores homemade chips, there are nothing to equal them in his eyes!and give him some homemade chips and a couple of sunny side up fresh fried eggs and he is a very happy bunny.

NO BRAINER!!!....no, not you. Nice thickly cut home made chips are sensational, especially with crumbed sausages and runny eggs. And when I have lambs fry and bacon the chips MUST also be home made, even a decent parma should be accompanied by home made chips. Take away fries have more salt than potato, really just a gimmick.
