Do you drive slower at night?

Nighttime driving from the driver's point-of-view - nighttime driving on a dark freeway, looking from inside the car, with the headlights on.

I have noticed that when I drive at night, or whenever it is dark outside, I drive slower on the freeway. I usually go 65-70 mph but at night I go as slow as 55 - and I see that other people do too! Do you drive slower at night? What are your driving habits?

Hi there dxfanatic69! Well, I wouldn't really say that I drive slower at night. But I am definitely more careful when driving when it is already dark. I am also more defensive when driving at night. But when I do not know the place that much, I tend to drive slower.

I tend to drive a little faster at night. Its for the simple reason that there is less traffic. The alertness levels I've noticed are much higher than during the day.

Dear friend, I do like to drive in normal speed in cases when I do not have any urgency I do drive slow during night if the road is not good, if it is too rush and if I feel tried. I do like to drive in not much rush roads.I do like night driving mostly if the road is good and less traffic.

I drive slower at night. Driving at night for me is much harder rather than daytime & I often go out at night so I'm not use in driving at nighttime.

nope, i drive just as fast at night as during daylight. I notice though that I slow down when a big truck is approaching me on a dark road. Here the roads outside towns have no streetlights so you get a bit blinded by upcoming traffic.
