well we stay in a companys accomodation and had used some influence of our uncle to get this good a locality...so we are neither owners nor tenants....however we own a house in Pune and one in Nashik and we have very sweet tenants..they are very prompt in paying their rents and we always help them by getting done whatever small modifications they need ...good tenants are a bliss...and also maintaining your own property in a good condition is very challenging what do you think? are you a good tenant? how is the landlord of the house? do you also have the 11 month lease papers before you give and take a house on rent?

I am buying my house, my very first, but I have rented most of my life except when I was married. I always tried to leave the property in better shape than I found it. I've heard horror stories about bad tenants that cost the property owner more than the rent they'd paid so I would never consider renting out a property I owned. In this country, so many people think the world owes them something and they are very careless of others' property and even intentionally destroy it sometimes.

My husband and I lived in rentals before we were married. His landlord was pretty decent..mine on the other hand screwed me over big time with the deposit. We've always taken very good care of our home.
Since we've been married we've bought two houses. We sold the first one after living there for 5 years and then bought the one that we live in now. I prefer actually owning because then there's no answering to a landlord. I can decorate and paint however and whatever I like. Cosmetic changes done on the outside is our decision. I love that.

I agree!
Selling the rentals and buying a big house sounds lovely. I've got to imagine though that owning rental property must have it's benefits. Extra income and such. Do you know what type of big house you'd like to have one day?
