Do you ever suffer with mystery aches and pains?

My insomnia kicked in again, so I'm up early posting. Or, is it late? I'm not sure. I took a really long nap yesterday, so I guess that was my sleep for the day. Just now I noticed that my arms and elbows ache. That happens a lot when my body is tired and trying to close up shop for the night. I get all kinds of mystery aches. I have no idea what is causing the pain. It's more annoying than anything. It'll go away after awhile. Just wish my brain would shut down for awhile so I could get some sleep. Do you ever feel weird aches and pains when you are very tired?

Honestly - not. Mom's house doesn't have a tub - just a walkin shower. My apartment only has a tub, no shower. But, I've been at Mom's since November, so I don't get to the tub.

Hi Beautyqueen the first thing to start aching when I am tired is my back, I find it hard to hold a good posture and will slump a bit and if online it will be my eyes too and then that is a sure sign for me to get some sleep and reenergise and wake up alert and upright again. Ellie :D

Hi Ellie! I have trouble with my eyes too when I'm tired. I'm constantly having to make my screen larger to see the words. That's when I know it's past my bedtime!

That is part of my life. I have pain all the time. Most of it is caused by the arthritis in my neck, back and hands. But I have pain that my doctors have never been able to say what I have. They thought I had ALS but I was so glad when they removed that diagnosis. But for eight years I have been undiagnosed and I have seen a lot of doctors and had a lot of tests.

Hello dear beauty queen. I am so sorry that you suffered from insomnia together with mystery aches and pains. Yeah, you have got the point that it was the long nap yesterday that made you suffer. I got to know this because I have had such an experience for more than once. So the best way to avoid this from happening is not to sleep long in the afternoon. And it will not spoil your night sleep. I hope that you are having a good and quality sleep as usual tonight. Enjoy yourself, dear friend.

Yes, I feel some pretty bad aches and pains right now. Yesterday just when I was finishing work I got a pain in my lower back and now it is so sore, today, that I couldn't even go to work. I can only think that I must have pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve or something and it will heal itself in the next couple days. I hope. When I get tired my fingers will hurt if I am on the computer or my wrists get real sore. But if I am not doing anything but laying on the couch, my body doesn't get time to ache because I just close my eyes and fall asleep. I don't fight it. Later when I wake up if I am still tired I may go to my bed and lay down again and go back to sleep. So my body doesn't have time to get tired enough that it aches, too often.

My MIL has something like that but it is in her hips. She gets it from a combination of arthritis and something else - I know it starts with a P. I will try to call her tomorrow and ask.

I woke up early today, not sure if that is the cause of the pains I am feeling or the result of the pains. I will get maybe a half hour nap, later. The only time I seem to have insomnia is if I drink too much caffeine too late in the day. Then my eyes may close and go to sleep, but my mind will really go crazy and make me very tired. I am not quite ready to do much moving around yet, but I have been reading that people who have chronic pain benefit from ten minutes or so of activity and movement. I have not been diagnosed with chronic pain, but I have more than my share some days. I also wonder just what is going on in the weather, because there is not the usual bright sunshine that I see at this hour. Yesterday was our first one hundred degree day, and they are predicting it again. I do find that if I miss sleep I have a lot more aches and pains.

We had a weird weather day too. Ours was overcast and cloudy. Usually very sunny and scorching heat. Not sure what is going on with the wacky weather!

Only recently I have noticed a tightness in my chest and a slight ache in the middle through to the back. It feels like gall stone problems again - I had this several years ago when I was living in Samoa. Once I start drinking water I feel a little better so I know its gall stones. Not a nice feeling at all.

I hear you! And I can sympathize. We have super hard water here, lots of minerals and it wreaks havoc on the system. I try to buy bottled water, but we always run out before grocery day. I worry about all of us! I really do!

I have to say that you have me a bit worried there beauty. What you're describing is how my Fibromyalgia started. I had terrible insomnia for a long time and I just ignored it as normal aging, stress, etc. After a while I started getting mysterious pains, headaches and swellings on my skin that I couldn't explain away. Within 2 yrs after the beginning of the insomnia, I had full blown Fibromyalgia and was one very sick, depressed, non-functional individual. Once I finally got diagnosed and proper medication I immediately started sleeping regular hours and about 1/3 of my symptoms went away. I will never be 100% again unfortunately and now have other health problems but I can vouch for lack of sleep doing horrible things to the body. I'm not saying that insomnia causes Fibromylagia or that it caused mine, it was just one of many symptoms. But it does wreaks serious havoc on the body. Please don't let it go too far hon, I did and wish now that I had taken care of it much sooner.

Thanks for the warning. I had not considered that it could be related to something more serious.

I don't know about when I'm tired, but yes, I do have them. I limp all the time - my left ankle hurts something terrible, as well as the side of that foot. It swells up and I can only wear a couple pairs of shoes any more because the others are too tight on my left foot. I suspect it is related to a fall back in January when I hurt my left leg and they thought I'd broken my ankle, but the orthopedist said no break. But, they didn't xray the foot, even though there was bruising all along the side (where it still hurts now), so what's causing it IS a mystery. But, I no longer have insurance, so I can't find out. I also have back aches, lower usually, but sometimes farther up, and my muscles will knot up in the upper right side. Still no real idea, especially since it sometimes hurts worse after sleeping (which is odd because you'd think it would relax then). Maybe someday I'll find out (while I'm still here, I hope - LOL).

Ignore #21. I have no idea how it went there and not here.....here's the answer that was supposed to go here. Honestly - not. Mom's house doesn't have a tub - just a walkin shower. My apartment only has a tub, no shower. But, I've been at Mom's since November, so I don't get to the tub.

Sorry you aren't feeling good today beauty. I hope you can rest soon. Heck I hope we both can. LOL I was up almost all night last night stressing over the storm Dolly. Luckily I can scratch that off my stressor list now. But, I'm still tired and will need to crash here soon. As for the weird aches - I have them daily here. Just part of my daily life with CFIDS and Fibromyalgia. Hope once you rest yours will go away.

Yes, I would have to say that I do endure some aches and pains. Some seem unexplainable, like a pain I get in my right leg from time to time. It's been hurting off and on for about a year now. I think it stems from my lower back. And when I am tired or sleeping it seems to kick in right about then. I usually take an aspirin or something before it starts up sometimes. I think mystery aches could be just a part of life.

Could it be pain from the sciatic nerve? Like a pinched nerve? A friend of mine has pain from that if he stands too long. Usually the pain is on the side of his leg. Don't know exactly where, just the side.

I used to have similar pain in my legs. And I started doing squats/ballet plies with five pound hand weights and the pain went away. The key is that you have to hold the squat pose about half way down and not go down too far or you'll hurt your knees.

You know, more times than not my husband and I think that it could be a sciatic type of thing. I try leg exercises once in a while. They are supposed to help this I believe.

Yeah, that sometimes happens to me. I get pains in my neck, and in my elbows, believe it or not. it's really strange when that happens.

I ALSO believe it sounds like fibromyalgia. I am always in a lot of pain when I wake up. I don't sleep well at night, which is why I stay up so late. No point in going to bed if I'm not going to be able to sleep. The other day I had a nap on the couch for about half an hour, maybe 45 minutes. When I woke up my legs were killing me. I wake up every morning in pain. Usually I am okay through the day but the minute I lie down at night I feel pain again. It's a vicious circle, but that is the nature of the beast called Fibromyalgia. After your doctor rules everything out (IF they rule everything out), you will probably be diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

Every year I find more and more weird aches and pains especially when I'm tired. I broke my foot in 2000 and now the opposite foot (the one I had to carry my weight on)aches every night. Then there are my wrists if I crochet too long. We all will have to face these odd little things with age. I think they may just seem worse when we are tired because we are cranky. I wish you much luck with the aches and the sleep.

Its probably because u are working to hard. try to take a break, and take vitamins and of course eat healthy fruits and veges!
