Do you drink tap water? Do you have bottled water? Do you make sure that bottle water has been distilled? They just did a report on our tap water and found over 5k pharmacutial drugs in it, not to mention the iron, chlorine, etc... We just put in a reverse osmosis filter!

I dont drink the tap water. I have a filter on the my kiten sink and buy bottled water too. One day they tested water from our development and found small traces of E-coli, which was very scary! You can also smell the chlorine in the water when you are taking a shower from time to time.

Here they actually charge us monthly to put chlorine in our water supply, isn't that nice of them? Thanks for the comment!

In Singapore, the government is very proud of the fact that tap water is legally safe to drink. The Public Utilities Board often reminds us that our tap water is safer than what the World Health Organisation considers safe and healthy. So, I definitely do drink tap water. When I'm out and about and feel thirsty, I have no issue with filling up a plastic bottle with tap water or even drinking from a water cooler. I don't know anyone who has been sick in Singapore for drinking tap water. Bottled water is something I drink when I'm in a restaurant that does not serve tap water. Having said all that, I did buy a water filter system for the home. While the official line is that tap water is safe, I do know that allot of chlorine has been used in the preparation of water. Singapore is water scarce and so allot of the water we drink has been recycled and chemicals have been used in treating the water before it is released into the system for us to consume. So, while tap water is safe to drink, I feel comfortable having an extra layer of safety for the home's water supply. While we probably drink enough 'chemical ed' water to be pretty immune, I think drinking a bit less may help our bodies last that extra bit longer.

My sister went to Rome, where they drink from the springs in the street. They look at you funny, she says, when you order bottled water with "no gas" in the restaurants for that reason. She had an exchange student from Rome come to visit here in So Cal. The poor girl must have thought us all to be crazy with our bottled water.

We put in a reverse osmosis filter when we first moved in and have a small, portable one that we take with us when we go on trips. Bottled water is usually just tap water from resevoirs, even if it's claimed to be from spring-fed lakes, so we don't bother with that. I like the r/o filter because we don't have to worry about buying plastic bottled water any more and aren't getting the crap that comes in our municipal water.

We as a family do not drink tap water. We have a water filter installed in our home and at office and ever the school at which my children study has proper filtered water arrangement for the students. I would rarely ever consume normal water as there is a very high probability of contamination.

Isn't it sad that our water is a source of contamination for us?

well one should take adequate precaution while drinking water or even other liquids and specially bottled ones available. i normally prefer water from the ro system . or if it is bottled water from the reputed brands!!

For the last five years almost. the quality of water that we were getting as the tap supply was not upto the mark and so we had to go for it . and now it is absolutely satisfactory.

I drink bottled water when I am out and about. But sitting at hime I drink tap water. Well I drink the water that comes out of the filter in my refridgerator door so I dont know if it still has all the clorines and all that in it that the tap water does. But at my dads house in mississipp he has well water so I drink the water there. But I dont know what it is with some people and tap water. Some people just prefer bottle water and I dont have the money to buy bottled water all the time.

I drink water that is filtered from the tap. I don't mind drinking straight from the tap, but it kind of scares me sometimes. My mother refuses to use the filter system she used for years now because she has heard the florene is stoped by the filter. I don't know if that is a good enough reason to stop drinking filtered water over tap water, but she lives in a city with a good and clean water source. I live in a bigger city where I don't feel as safe drinking straight tap water all of the time.
