I had heard of ZenniOptical through a blog. I did some research and read all kind of great things about the site. My son was on an overnight trip with his Dad a few weeks ago and his glasses disappeared. Since we are broke, I couldn't just go to Walmart and drop $140 on a new pair, so I decide to take a change on ZenniOptical. The glasses and lenses were $8, shipping $4.95; so $12.95 total. Today the glasses came in the mail and are perfect! The frames are a light weight metal but much sturdier than any other child's frame I have seen. He says he sees perfectly out of them. They have a lot of different frames to choose from. Many styles that I have never seen before (of course you do pay a bit more for them). Plus, they only charge only one shipping fee, regardless of how many pairs you order! http://zennioptical.com/cart/home.php

My husband and I do not have insurance and he needs glasses. I have never heard of this place before but I will look into it when he decides to go for glasses. It is so hard to find good deals these days if you do not have insurance. the price of everything that is medical is so outragious.

Even when I had insurance the exams were not usually covered. I wear contacts and I may have gotten my glasses exam covered, but always had to pay out of pocket for thj contacts exams (which is at least $80). Do you have an America's Best Eyewear around you? They have a "plan" you pay $99 and you get 2 eye exams a year for 3 years (I believe it works for contacts as well). You do that and get your glasses from Zenni - or even buy them from America's they always have a cheap 2 for 1 deal - and you have a good deal. If you don't, WalMart Optical does exams for like $40.

Wow! Only $12.95 a pair? I might have to look into getting my father a pair from there (assuming they have adult frames as well.) He's had the same pair of glasses for, like, twenty years, so I think he's due for a new pair! Haha. Thanks a lot for the info!

Yeah, they do have adult frames and they do all different types of lenses too. All you need is his prescription.

We have some pretty good discount opticians here in the UK,Specs direct is a very good one.But I wear glases to read and for close work, and I went to the optician and got a prescription pair, but I sat on them, and they were just buckled,so from the on ive just bought the readers from the chemists shops, the optician has said that it does me no harm to wear them

Awesome. At those prices I can have glasses in every color to match my clothes. Glasses are so overpriced here. Actually frames are overpriced almost everywhere. They didn't have anything on there sit about international shipping. Do they? Or don't they? I'm not in the USA. It's not a big problem. I could always ship to a friends house and either have them forwarded or have the next person I know coming to my country bring them to me.

I really don't know if they do international shipping, you should call them and find out.

It's no big deal if they don't. Someone I know is bound to come here on vacation soon. If not, there's alway a friend to re mail it for me. I have 2 pairs of glasses already, so I can wait to get a few just for fashion. Those prices and styles are just so wonderful I could go crazy buying a few pairs.
