Has anyone heard about the extreme makeover house that is facing foreclosure?? I don't watch the tv show. I have seen some clips from the show. These people really work hard to help other people out. Habitat for Humanity helped my parents get a house. They were more than grateful for it. Its sad that these people are facing foreclosure, how would you feel if you put a lot of work into a home to help out a family and they turn around take out a loan, just to face foreclosure??

I don't know that the house in foreclosure indicates the family was ungrateful; they took out a loan to start a business. The business failed, and the family is losing their home.
The family was awarded an amazing opportunity by being given the house, and yet another by now having capital to follow a dream. It's incredibly tragic that they lost it all.

I have not heard about this yet, but I guess I have not been following some of the News from that show as well. I know I have watched quite a few of these shows and thought it was awesome what they do for people. Just wonder what the people in charge of this show are thinking, and all the people who helped out, and if anyone will end up coming to help them out of this situation. All I can say, is I hope the home does not get too destroyed with this happening to where it will end up looking like no one ever took the time to do a makeover in the first place.

Foreclosure is a big problem all over the country. And yes, they should have been more careful especially considering what other people went through to help them, but hindsight is 20/20. Perhaps they thought they were getting a good deal. Perhaps they were just foolish. I don't know. I know that a lot of low income people get tempted by these "put cash in your pocket now loans". I've been tempted before myself, but I've never taken one out. The interest rates are astronomical. I think it's likely that these people just got flimflammed.

I wish I can say it is sad, but it kinda angers me. They had an opportunity of a life time! They were not only given this amazing home, but enough money to pay the taxes on it for 25 years!! How do you explain to your child that the home they were given to make them feel safe and secure was lost because you gambled it away.
It isn't like they took out the loan to pay medical bills or something to make sure their family was taken care of. They could have gotten a job and saved up enough to start a business so they weren't in fear of losing their home. They took advantage of other's kindness and put it to shame.
