glitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard some grumbling lately about glitches on mylot, specially since the last upgrade. I think most of us know to get email notifications from our friends, we need to turn it on to recieve them. Here is something else that I discovered. If you look at the top of the page, right next to where it shows your earnings. It says preferences, click on that, then click on notifications. That will take you to several items that if you want to recieve email notifications for different things, the boxes must be checked. I had a friend that wasn't getting email notifications from anybody, she had went to her friends list and had things turned on properly. Her friends had her turned on properly too. She went and clicked on preferences and then notifications, she then checked all her boxes. Walla it was like magic and its all fixed. To everyone out in mylot land, if you are having email glitches, try my suggestions and hopefully the glitch will be solved.

Yes, you were very helpful to me. Now maybe you can help me figure out a way to easily find the interest that I want to post under. They have now change it to where not all of them can fit in the screen. It is a waste of time to have to scroll up and down looking for a particular interest. And when are they going to update the part that tells how long we have been members on here? I believe that I have been on Mylot for two years, but it still indicates that I have only been here for a year. Thank you again for your help. It has made my days so much brighter, now that I am hearing from my friend's again.

Hi Polly! I have not had that problem yet,but it is a good idea letting all of us know this..I do have all my friends turned on but it takes time for the newbies to understand all the rules because i know at first i had a few problems until i caught on...I am sure this will help those who are having problems,and it is very nice of you to take the time to keep all informed....Have a great day...

I had my friend turned on too, the problem was she didn't have all her boxes checked. I had always thought if we turned the notifications on we should have no problems. Once she checked her boxes the problem was fixed. Thanks for stopping by, its always nice seeing you.

well Polly that maybe part of the problem but not all. I just checked my notifications as you suggested and all the boxes have been checked but I still didn't a notification about you discussion. Your are on my friends list and notification is on.

Thanks Polly but everything is turned on in my friends section and in my preferences and I'm still not receiving all my email alerts. I think the fact that it is widely known that there is a glitch in this area has taken a lot of pressure off this problem. Hopefully it will be fixed sooner rather than later but I tell people not to hold their breath...

I agree we all do know that there is a glitch in this area. I had this one friend that I was not getting her emails, as soon as she went and checked all of hers, then I started getting the emails again, some of her other friends started getting them too. It might not just be on your end, the other people need to have all of the preferences checked too. Thanks for stopping by, its always nice seeing that big grin.

That's a real good thought...that never crossed my mind at all, but it makes perfect sense. You're right, there have been quite a few who had trouble with their notifications since the newest upgrade. I'm sure this will help them a lot! I always figured if you checked off your friends boxes you would get the notifications. I just checked mine and I have everything there checked, maybe that's why I haven't had any problems like so many others. Have a great day! Joy

thanks for the tips... i will try to follow them and hopefully the problem will be fixed... but sometimes we still experience the email notifications glitch even though we had set everything properly... if that happens, then it is mylot glitch... take care and have a nice day...

But see this is my problem.
All those items are checked.
Still I have friends that I recieve not a one notice from.
Word has it if a friend does not have notify turned on for you then you'll not get notifications of their discussions etc. Maybe I should ask myLot this.
