well, we often hear, don't judga a book by it's cover and the same thing is applicable to people. because of the way i look, people make certain conclusions that i am this and that... and when they get to know me... they are really surprise that i am totally the opposite of their first impression... hehehe... does this happen to you too?

I agree that most people make hasty conclusions based on just how they feel (subjective) instead of gathering facts for a better (objective) view. As a younger person, I was afraid of a house spider that looked like a poisonous breed. Later I would learn it was harmless. "It's always easier and quicker to act based on how we feel. The right thing is to act based on observations and facts. As we know, this takes a lot of time and effort." Isn't it amazing that doing the right thing is always mroe difficult? Comments anyone?

It does not happen frequently to me, but yes this has happened. Some people have admitted to me that they had conclusions before they even talked to me and ended up really opposite. I was so happy that the things were positive. They did not expect something great and did not end with anything. It was the reverse.

I am usually a pretty good judge of character. My husband always says don't judge a book by its cover towards his friends. I am most of the time right that they turn out to be no good( not because they are just his friends lol) but because my hubby goes out of the way to help his friends all the time and I tell him they are gonna stiff you like usual, some when it comes time for his friends to return the favour, it never happens they always leave him hanging. I've learned how to read people very well. I work with the public and my hubby is very social so there is always new people here all the time. I've become pretty good at picking out the losers. lol

The last time I took that advice to heart, I spent 13 hours in Barnes and Noble and came out empty handed. The reason people jump to conclusions based on appearance is because quite often, they're right. On the surface, people might appear to be one thing, but if you look under the surface, they turn out to be... exactly that.
