Your second response was quite thorough. Has your son made any progress towards publishing his book?

I would encourage him in any way I could. He may have found his place and he needs to know that you stand by him.

Hello! Wow, your son must be really good. Encourage him by saying that, whenever he has any doubts or anything, he can count on you. You will be there to help him. Provide him the necessary tools for writting a good text. Let him in peace for a while and ideas will flow out of his head. Then you read and check if it's good, make him review it, change what it is not perfect. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

WOW! You must be very proud! I know I would be. I am fairly new and noticed your topic a few days ago. I didn't think I really had anything to contribute (of significance) at the time. However, I have been thinking about this for a while. I remember seeing or hearing about a few things that you may want to look into. I have included a few below: I do not know where you are located, but in my area there are "workshops" for kid; on learning or increasing writing skills and creative writing. You may have these in your area. You could start by checking with the local school system, libraries, and some book stores. I would hope they would have some information on these local activities. There are also a lot of writing contests that can help him "expand" his writing skills and get a bit more experience and "publicity." It can also help him increase his "literary" contacts. I know that probably sounds odd but I figured it would not hurt. Who knows, in a few years he may be looking for a publisher and one of these new contacts might be able to help him. You can start looking at your local school system, libraries and book stores. There are also all sorts of contests on the web. It may take some time to search for the "right" ones, but it may be worth it! I checked myself (very quickly and without really reading through all the information) and found a few. I have put together a short list for you to start: www.randomhouse.com/kids/writingcontests - this is a Publishing site. I would start here. Random House is a huge publisher. http://pbs.org/readingrainbow/contest/ - I am sure you have heard of Reading Rainbow. This contest is for young writers AND illustrators. www.rif.org/readingplanet/content/contests.mspx - Reading Planet offers a large variety of writing contests throughout the year for kids. http://teacher/scholastic.com/activities/kaa/ - Scholastic is infamous for teaching materials and great kids learning toys, information, etc. The winner of this particular contest, actually has their novel published. www.kidscandoit.com - this is a great site and may have some information for you as his parent too. It looks like they encourage kids to submit stories to their site. I am not sure if they just post it or if there are people who read it and help them learn from it; such as editing, etc. or not...but it may be worth checking out. and finally - but certainly not least is a HUGE site for both you and your son. It looks like a great source of information on all sorts of writing contests, skill development and resources. http://www.smartwriters.com/content/blagcategory/89/59/ Well...I hope this information helps. It must be exciting to watch your son be interested in such a wonderful passion as writing. I wish you both nothing but success! Good Luck!
