Philippines
July 31, 2008 10:12pm CST
August 8, 2008 is the opening of the worlds bigggest atlethics game. The battleground is beijing, China. For our filipino atlethes, they are now very aggressive to win the first 10 gold medals for the country. Because that gold medal will make them famous, rspectfull and money.MONEY? Yes, GOLD=1 MILLION PESOS The Philippine government is giving away 5 million pesos for the atlethes that who will win the 1st 5 gold medals. But, that amount was added by 6.5 million pesos that came from different business tycoons of the country and including the Filipino boxing idol, Manny Pacquiao. Speaking of Pacquiao, he will be the country's flag bearer in the Olympics. Go team Philippines!!!

As I have observed in the past summer Olympics, the Philippines haven't gone far in obtaining silver and bronze medals. I'm not being pessimistic, actually I have my hopes high. But there's nothing wrong in dreaming. It's what makes us strive harder. Go Team Philippines! Make our country proud!

Hi friend, Ya all want to grab gold in great battle. Ya government should offer them some rewards. I think it is most honourable thing can do for the country by a athlete. By the goverment should give him reward and better facilities and opportunity

Wow that sounds great, if ever we get even one gold as the competition is really intense. We are just a small country and our source for a good player is quite rare nowadays. But I am sure that we might get the gold to some sports that we usually excel.

I've never heard of that thing. But I just hope that they do win lots of gold, not for the sum of 1 million but for honor. I am a basketball coach in our school and I've trained my players to play games without even promising rewards after winning.

Wow, it is a very very huge money. It will add much motivation to the philiphine athlete to do the best for the country. Beside that the athelete will get famous, they will also become a rich person in their country. I like yout goverment contry way to give some motivation and bonus like this. Furthermore if they can break the record in the olympic game. Let's see the philiphine athele action a week later.

That is a big sum of money! Considering how hard it is to earn money. And the prices of commodities are so high. Hope the athletes really take home gold medals. For their and the country's pride.
