I can eat either white meat or the dark meat but have a higher preference for the dark meat as it seems to be more moist and flavorful. Like you, my daughter can't eat an entire chicken leg because she can't stand to see the bone....lol. She takes 1 or 2 bites and then gives it to my husband or myself.

It's interesting isn't it.. My ex will NOT eat the white meat.. He cringes!
I can relate to your daughter.. for me I think it is seeing the bone... (But sorry about this).. OMG if there is a vein I could actually get dry heives LOL, but that's just me. Some people can eat it down to the knuckle! LOL it's weird how things make people feel differently on eating things.
Does your daughter say anything.. Like eww a bone! You eat it? LOL

lol...you and my daughter sound exactly the same! She will literally gag if she sees the bone. It's so strange because she can see our bones laying on our plates and it really doesn't bother her much but if it is one she has been eating, you can forget it. You are correct, it is funny how we all have different quirks when we are eating. I have a friend of mine that absolutely can't have any food touching on her plate and she will only eat one item at a time off of her plate.

Even though I grew up with it, its a prefernce. Dark meat just deosnt look inviting and I enjoy the taste of white meat. But there are other foods my mom cooked that I have no preference for so mine is a matter of taste. White meat just happens to be what my mom loved to cook with.

So you haven't tried dark meat? I know my mother always prepared white meat. When I did speak with my ex and his mom asking the same question dark or white.. she gave me a very interesting response, it was: When you have a low income, and many children to feed, you eat what is there and not complain. Interesting isn't it?
But we had 9 children, not much income... but I still only ate white meat.. so really, is it preference or what you "grew" up with? Know what I mean?

I'll eat either but I prefer dark meat. It's much more tender and juicy. Plus I like the flavor of it better. I can't stand white turkey meat at all though. Chicken 'chest' is alright but only if it's been marinated or cooked in a way that seals in the juices.

I LOVE CHICKEN AND TURKEY!!
i will eat either white or dark meet, and basically, I have learned to like both, I live with my mom and it's what ever she makes! One night she may make chicken strips or the next just legs and thighs. Doesn't matter to me! YUM either way!
My mother makes that easy, because she is a fantastic cook. Bar-b-q, baked or fried - doesn't matter! Bring it on!
lol
Turkey though I will admit, I do like the White meat better. I just really love how moist it is and OH when we have Stuffing and cranberry and boiled onions in cream sauce- THE BEST!

Hey nanciem, I totally agree with you. I just don't like the
dark meat on poultry. I don't like the taste of it at all.
It has a a completly different taste then the white meat. It'
really funny because some people will only eat the darke meat.
My mom doesn't like the white meat. She says it's too dry. I
find that most people have a definite preference one way or
the other.

Hey Opal.. first off... thank you for the response. It's weird isn't it.. I mean like the "meat" comes from the same well you know.. chicken or turkey.
Alot of people say the white meat is too dry.. well give me a glass of water and say Bye Bye Dark meat! But again.. it is all different taste, pretty cool huh.. to find out about other people.. I love this! LOL

I prefer the white meat, it is a waste for me buy a whole chicken because my husbadn doesn't like things with bones either. The white meat to me is the best. I do not eat chicken skin, or veins. All of the othe parts of the chicken, wings, and legs, have too many veins in them. I often wonder when I see commercials on tv and the people are biting into the chicken leg, uggggg
If I eat a chicken leg, I do not bite into it, I will pick the meat, to make sure I do not get any veins in my mouth.
I definately will not eat chicken wings, nothing but skin, bones and veins.
