havainas is a must have item if you're in the philippines. but i've heard from my friends and relatives abroad that this pair of flip flops isn't really a grab for them. i wonder why. can anyone share their thoughts on this? good or bad, i have havaianas flip flops! hehe...

Hello randiss! I'm from the Philippines too! And actually, I don't think havainas are a must have here in our country! I don't even have one. Although I have some flipflops, but they are of different brands and are much cheaper than havainas, I dare say. Anyway, maybe other countries don't make a big deal with havainas because they aren't into flipflops? Hehe. Maybe there are just much better brands there. Ipanemas are flipflops right? Or they are much more into sandals or sneakers or whatever.. :)

well, i was being figurative when i said that it's a must have. =) i recently had a friend visit me here from canada and i told her about the havainas craze (from where i'm from, retailer stores are popping out) and she wondered what the craze is all about. she said that in ontario, her friends don't really care about it. they treat it like ordinary slippers and that they do prefer wearing sneakers and sandals when going out. basically, they don't value it as much as people here do. lol. on the other hand, ipanemas are new to me. i'll look it up. hehe. =)

lol. i don't know, really. haha i guess it's because they're from abroad and that its value in dollars is converted to pesos and its peso equivalent is what attracts everyone to it. lol. i don't know. but if that is the case, then i think it's sad. (^.^)

thats the most fashion trend for Pinoys right now..Since its pricey, not everybody can afford it. But there are fake havaianas coming out right now for only 50 pesos($.90) But it has a very soft rubber and noticeable immitation..

I love Havaianas! I have several pairs of it. Who says its a sin to have one? lol. I was so impulsive before that when I saw a new design, I would buy it. I have been in the pinoy craze for Havs. But I came to this point that I realized I don't need flipflops that much as I need shoes. So I told myself to think twice before buying a new one. I prefer buying shoes now instead of fiip flops.

I'm from Canada, and I had honestly never heard of Havainas until I was in Europe last summer. Most of the Australians I saw were wearing them, and that kind of became like a distinguishing mark. If they had on Havaina flip flops, they were probably Aussie. I've seen them a few times in stores since, but they're very pricey here -- around $30 CAD.

we have havaianas in the us but they're pretty expensive. i only have 1 pair of havaianas, i bought them on ebay for $15. the only reason i bought them was because i love the color and i couldn't find the same color in other brands. i love flip flops but i wouldn't spend too much money on them.

oh cool. that is one of the nicest things about them, they have really nice designs. but then, i don't know if it's enough to justify their price. hehe...
