well, i guess practice really does make perfect. recipes from the internet are actually very helpful. but sometimes the taste that you always wanted does not seem to match the taste of the food when you just follow other recipes. when i tried cooking a sweet and sour meatball at first, i followed the ingredients i found from the internet. well it tasted good. but not the taste i want. so i did experiment on my own recipe. and after 4-5 attempts and some twist, i finally ended up with my own sweet and sour meatballs. the fulfillment was heavenly and the joy it brings when the person you cooked for really does enjoy it. have a good day mylotters.:)

My cooking is all about trial and error. I like tweaking recipes and throwing stuff together to get the healthy and tasty dish I'm after. Like most things it takes lots of practice to get good at it. :-)

you are right. but i hate it when it ended not what you've expected. i don't throw it away. it's such a waste and price of ingredients are really high right now. well my girlfriend needs to eat it no matter what the taste is.lol. have a good day:)

Wow! another masterpiece from Neil after the pao. What does it taste like? Just a guess, could it taste like squidball or fishball? That's nice. C'mon share your recipe! I am not good at cooking though, you know that. ahahaha. The most complicated food I cooked is a hotdog.... Pinks is in for another home made treat again. Nice work and congrats bro! See 'ya around!

Wow! Thanks for the recipe.. It does look complicated to me though. But I'll try it. I have no idea what it would taste like, much more what it would look like. I just have to get past the hotdog and eggs. Thanks again. Hope it turns out good. Most likely this weekend. Take care bro.

hahaha. of course it doesn't taste like that. if you happen to eat at Goldilucks and tasted their sweet and sour meatballs, that's the taste. hahahha. really, promise.:) here's how i did it. but remember the ingredients are only good for 2 ok. you know i only cook for me and pinks. for the meatballs: it's your choice, ground pork or ground beef. maybe just 1/4 kilo will be enough for 2. deep fry it. if you prefer having the tempura syle dip it in flour mix with water until you have that pancake mixture like consistency then deep fry it. for the sauce:(this is where all the experimentation payed out) 1 cup of water 1 tsp of cornstarch 1 table spoon of soy sauce 3 tablespoon of vinegar 3 tablespoon of tomato ketchup 3 tablespoon of sugar mix all of these except for the cornstarch. once it boils taste it if it already suits you. but i bet you will like the taste already.lol. well if not add what you think is missing. the good thing about not adding the cornstarch right away is so that you can add ingredients still. add bellpepper and add onions depending on how much you like. now once you think it taste perfectly add the cornstarch to thicken the sauce. but don't add it directly to the sauce because it will just clump together the technic is you mix it with water, less than 1/4 cup, just to melt it then add it to your sauce. mix, mix mix until it boils and thickens. your all donw.:) hope you like it. have a good day zeroflashx2. glad to hear from you again. i bet your job is getting in your way to do mylot huh? lol. take care:)

I love to cook and finding and trying new recipes just adds to the excitement especially when you tweak it to suit your families tastes. I like to frequent several sites each month and try something new. I have many recipes from cooks dot com and others from the taste of home cooking site. Course, I still go through my grandmothers old cookbook that got handed down to me and she had many good from the scratch recipes written in it that have become family favorites.

It always feels great to be successful in doing something on your own on improving on a previous thing. It was great of you to make your own recipe from the one you found on the internet. I like cooking, but do not get time to experiment and have fun with it. bourne

Wow, Congratulations. Before the pao and now sweet and sour meatballs. That's great. You should be called "Chef Neil". LOL. As for me, I don't usually rely on cookbooks or recipes from internet. I like to do my own stuff. Sort of an experiment in the taste and presentation of what I am preparing. So far, all my experiments turned out well. Keep cooking and keep posting. HUGZ! P.S. Don't do mylot while cooking, remember my post? It might get burned. LOL.

LOL Neil LOL. That's great but I am afraid both of you (pinks) gain weights fast since I hear a lot of yummy foods from you. How I wish I can eat with both of you together. And you will be cooking for us if I came to visit you there in your place. I wish I can go back there soon. (red star 91 @ 1454)
