The catholic doctrine is outdated and is too strict for the new generations. Everyone is a sinner as we inherited the sins from adam and eve. In the eyes of the catholic church it is a sin to use birth control but can be forgiven if we go for confession. God forgives those sinners who asked to be pardoned. So it is a circle, when we commit a sin we ask for forgiveness and it shall be given There is an avenue for sinners to repent. The pope is the earthly king for the catholic church, he should review the rules to suit the modern age followers.

I have heard of this of the religion of Catholicism. However I am sure like you have said that you know Catholics that are using birth control. I wouldn't consider them sinners because of it because I do not want to stand in judgment.
I am not Catholic myself and I don't want to impose on their religion by stating that they sinned or went against their religion.

According to their church, they are sinners. I am not God, but in my opinion using birth control is a loving thing to do, allowing children to be born at a healthy space, to established couples. I am sure this is something many devout Catholics struggle with in their marriages.
