Well, its while since I am using cell phone, but I never liked this messaging thing from sms. However it happens I have to do that in emergency cases, and where I have to reply to sms, and I cant make calls at that time. But I really hate typing using those small keys. I have a touch screen cell phone and can get a bit big keys to message but still, its not my kind of thing. I prefer to talk on phone rather then messaging. How about you?

I like message on mobile. I mostly do chatting on mobile. I prefer to send sms mostly. You said you have a touch screen, on a touch screen we can type with good speed. I don't prefer to talk morel. I like to message. My current speed in typing is 160 characters in 70 sec. I want to make it to 50 sec.

ops!! thats really a good speed. I can't even think of having that speed on my cell phone. However, my speed is good on computer.. arround 83 "words" per 60 seconds. Thats the reason I like to chat on computer rather then messaging on cell phone.

Most of the messaging of any kind I do on my phone (emails, sms, mms, pictures, & voice messages) are for work purpose... I personally prefer talking on the phone myself but again, for work reasons I do a lot of emails & text messages... It is convinient for me because my phone does pretty much everything I need... I rarely check emails from computer either because of it...

I do messaging if required in certain urgent case else i'm not used to this thing.Well i prefer to talk rather than pressing those buttons. In short I'm lazy to do so.Even if someone message me I do make a call to reply him/her.But my message box remains full all the time.I dunno if they want to hear my voice all the time....LOL

Is that you in your Avatar? if yes, then you are right, they must be waiting to hear you only. Whatever you have written, I mentioned above in response to another mylotter.

Depends. There are people I'd rather text than call. LOL! When I'm really bored and have nothing to do, I like texting a lot. Specially with an old friend than calling because it would cost more if I called. one thing I don't like with SMS, my spelling have gone bonkers at times. For all the abbreviations and the shortcuts of spelling. Sometimes when I'm writing a report, I have to double check in case I miss out on some words.

oh! so you use, sms for sending report kind of things? I really wont take that risk at all. However, may be you are confident about it. You must be having good speed of texting on cell phone?

Dear friend, I do send sms if it is wishing in any special occasions. Usually I too talk over phone and would forward those funny messages to others. But rarely do I type any messages in the place of verbal communication. Usually I do verbal communication. But I do like receiving funny sms, jokes and wishes. But to a normal rate not too much as I would just get confused if too much of sms comes and more over space will also be wasted. Still I do like to receive better messages mostly on funny aspects.

as I mentioned above to my other friends, I also have seen my friends enjoying the funny stuffs on phone. Sometimes they do read it loud for us, so we too enjoy them. But I dont like those stuffs directly in my cell phone inbox. Nor I am interested in sending them to others. In total can say that its good that you enjoy doing that.

Even I receive personal messages and quotes from my known and sometimes unknown persons, but I dont reply to them through sms. If necessary I do give them a call, and just talk to them.

i also prefer talking even if it sometimes cost me more then just send some message to someone ... i prefer it becouse if you have something really to say to somebody then call them and set it straight, and not sending message when he will again respond to you about what? or something like that

I neither like or dislike receiving or sending SMSs. I think it is a service for my convenience and I do not use it for sharing jokes and other funny stuff. I can't afford a joke at some cost to my pocket :) But I do use it for important things like banking, bill pays, giving and receiving some important and useful information.

I like texting much more than calling.i guess it started when i got free charge for my sms. that's why i usually talk in such a way. it's also more interesting for me to chat like that, because the messages get more funny, and other people are not involved in what i am talking about. i also have a fast texting speed so it's not a problem for me.

Honestly, I don't like sending or receiving sms [especially forwarded/chained quotes or sayings]. If I want to contact someone, I will just call that someone via phone or cell phone.

We don't have a texting plan so we don't do that really. However, I do accept SMS from Redbox. This is because they send a code each Monday which you can use to rent a DVD for free that night. Otherwise the only other SMS I get is from the Cellphone company when payment is late. LOL.

ok, I got your point. The cost can be a factor to avoid calling. Mostly these telecom services provides offers for sms, they hardly have any good offers for calling. But still, I like to talk, more then texting.

Personally, I'd prefer calling someone.Texting take too much of time.Any way if i do send them i dont use short form. everyone makes up new short forms, and then they expect u to know what it means. so a call seams to be better, more personal, quick and costly. well most of u guys seem to love texting. My only advice "Save those Thumbs"

lol!!! those will be saved. I think many of them prefers sms more then calling, coz of the cost. because sms is cheaper then calls. Not everywhere but at some places. As far as language is concerned, they should know whom they are messaging and if they will be able to understand their message.
