It's over but, I want more...

I did it! I finished Breaking Dawn, the final chapter in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga. Oh My Gosh! I loved it! Actually, I finished it a little over an hour ago but, I had to make and eat dinner before I lost anymore time since I put cooking dinner off an extra half an hour to finish the book. And, I am only disappointed in the fact that that series has come to an end. I just don't want to, nor do I know how to, let go of Bella, Edward and Jacob. It is like saying good-bye to family or friends that you have such a strong and everlasting love for, knowing you will never see them again. I cried. I think I cried on and off throughout the last 50 or so pages. I am so deeply in love with the 3 main characters that my heart breaks to say good-bye to them. And, for those of you who haven't finished reading it, I am not giving anything away in this. I am simply referring to the pain I feel knowing that the series is done. Granted, I am still looking forward to Midnight Sun which is Twilight as told from Edward's point of view. But, it won't be the same. Their journey is over and it saddens me to know that I no longer have the telling of their lives to look forward to reading.
Anyway, in true Stephenie Meyer fashion, I laughed, I cried and I truly felt each emotion that she gave The Cullen, Swan and Quileute families. Stephenie Meyer is truly gifted to be able to draw so much emotion and devotion out of her readers. I feel that she is gift to this world and I can't wait to read whatever she comes up with next.
Who else has finished Breaking Dawn? Do you find it as hard to say farewell to Bella, Edward and Jacob as I do? Did you cry like a little baby at the end like I did? I can't even make myself put Breaking Dawn in my bookcase yet because I am so completely not at all ready to let go and move on. Before Breaking Dawn was released, while waiting for its release, I tried to rely on an old favorite in Dean Koontz but, he has lost his sparkle for me since reading what Stephenie has to offer. I crave more from her and, that says a lot because, before her, I had a tendency to gobble anything that Dean Koontz would put out, up. Don't get me wrong. I still adore Dean Koontz. He is another magnificent author but, his star has dimmed for me under the blinding shine from Stephenie Meyer. She fascinates me!
I bid a fond farewell to my Edward whom I fell in love with...yes, he is that captivating even if he is only in the form of words. And, I bid another fond farewell to Bella and Jacob and the rest of the Cullen, Swan and Quileute family!

Cortjo..I too finshed the book about 4pm today and felt so sad to not have another sitting by to start reading like before..I laughed at Jake's words alot to Rose..and cried towards the end the goodbye..you know what i mean
...
Most would have wrote the book as harsh but the romance and love throughout this book by Ms Meyer has me loving her as my number 1 author so far..
Can't wait for Midnight Sun to read his words, but Hope somehow there will be another story of the Cullen family with someone else's progress..you know who..lol..
I will not say goodbye to them cause i feel there will be more!

I had my Grandaughter buy me the book cause i was at work Sat. and she had no problem getting it at target..now that was early morn..But i had my 3 youngest grandbabies with me till Sunday afternoon so you can see i was having withdrawals knowing i had the book but couldn't read it..lol..well the babes came first..2 1/2,1 and 10 months..no way could i read with them 3 with me..lol..so after their mommies and daddies came for them i turned off everything and hunkered down to read Sunday afternoon till this afternoon..in between customers at my store I'd get anxious to get back to the book..lol..but when the Goodbye came i started crying and customers came in and had to get up and wipe my eyes so they wouldn't think i had a problem somehow and leave..lol..I think i loved this book the best..so much action and love!
I had unanswerd questions and wondered why they weren't mentioned who they were..(16 total we know at least 10..who are the others) and the part of what Siobhan said saying its not over..makes me feel plus the part i mentioned about our dear sweet N..makes me feel there is more coming.
I don't think she's done with them yet!

I went Saturday morning to the new Barnes and Noble down the street from my house after the hubby and I got out coffee from across the street. They had several copies behind the register and, I think they even brought a few more but, they were going quickly. I think they really did a good job of making sure they had enough for everyone that wanted one though because they said they sold 400 at the midnight release party and they had been selling in a pretty steady stream all that morning since opening time. They even had a list of reserved copies while having plenty for those people, like myself, who didn't reserve a copy. They did a really good job at anticipating its popularity.
So, I started reading it Saturday evening and I think I read just under 150 pages that night. Than, I read between 150 and 200 pages a day until I finished it yesterday. I intentionally took it a little slower than usual because I didn't want it to end. LOL! I almost wish I had taken it even slower! LOL!
I am hoping that you are right and that what Siobhan said holds true especially since there are a couple more reasons to continue the story.

It is really horrible when a good book comes to an end. I recently read the other boleyn girl and the boleyn inheritance. I got so into these books it was weird, I have not been like this over a book in a long time. When I finished the two books I was gutted because there were no more.
I chose another book from the library but the other books stayed with me so much that it took me ages to get into the new book.

It really says a lot about an author and their talent when you feel so attached to a book that it sticks with you for a while. Gutted is pretty much the best word for it. I feel empty and there is like a dull ache inside that I have a feeling will stick with me for some time to come. Breaking up is so hard to do! LOL! And, that is how I feel about trying to let go of this series.

i havent read any of this series but it's been getting alot of publicity so it must be good. I will read it in the future. I guess you had to tear yourself away from the book to get back to the real world and that is a sign of a good book.
I like all kinds of books but horror or thrillers are probably my favorite.

Snowy, don't hesitate! Get the entire series! It starts with Twilight. The next one is New Moon, then Eclipse and Breaking Dawn was just released this past Saturday. You can find the first 3 books pretty easily at any bookstore or even at the book sections of Target and grocery stores, among other places that carry books. But, Breaking Dawn may be a little harder to get your hands on. I made sure to get out and get mine Saturday and the guy told me that he sold 400 copies at Barnes and Noble's midnight release party last Saturday. When I went to get my copy, each person at the registers before and after me were there to get copies too. So, you might be able to find one but, if not, you still have the first 3 in the series to read through first. Just do your best to get a copy of Breaking Dawn so you have it when you get done with the first 3 in the series because if you are anything like me and Rosekitty, you will race through the first 3 books and want to get started on Breaking Dawn right away.
And, yes...the fact that I had to tear away from reading Breaking Dawn to tend to real life stuff is a good sign of a good book. The entire series is like that. I hated putting those books down to be a responsible adult! LOL!
And, this series is a thriller so, you will probably like them since those are your favorite kinds of books. I would say there is a bit of horror in it but, mostly thriller. The horror is sort of the not knowing what is going to happen and hoping it all works out for the best.
So, get them! Read them! Enjoy them! Remember me and Rosekitty as you get, read and enjoy them and let us know what you thought about them when you finally do! Let us know if they lived up to our hype! The way I hyped them got Rosekitty interested and it lived up to her expectations! I am curious to see if it does the same for you!
