As I sit here with my window open ( it is a cool night) I realize my favorite thing about summer...nights in particular... is listening to the crickets. It is a very comforting and peaceful noise. Growing up I lived in NYC and we did not have as many crickets, and more noise. I now live in the middle of Long Island and it is not country, but my yard has lots of trees and it is not noisy so I can easy hear the crickets. I am more of a night person in the summer especially, as nights are cooler. What about you?

Summer is not my favorite season because it get to hot here and is often still in the eighties at ten at night. But when we have a cooler evening I like to go outside on set on the back porch and enjoy the evening. Since we moved into town I do not hear crickets but when we lived out in the country it was nice to hear them and the little frogs down at the pond.

I grew up outside of Manhattan and we rarely heard them too. Wow that is some heat, I do not think I could stand it. Long Island gets a few like that now and then, but not on a regular basis.

Since I moved to PA from Texas, there are several things I enjoy about summer. I have always loved summer, but the longer days really make a difference up here, and the fact that is doesn't get as hot lol. Since we love camping, and I have come to learn there is a camping season up here, that's one more thing I love about summer. I love sitting around the campfire, the stars, and just relaxing.

I love a good fire also. In the warmer months we go to my sis in the country. She has 19 acres so her neighbors are not a problem. So we build HUGE bonefires. We have started to think there is somethng wrong with us because we can be facsinated for hours by the fire. It is so relaxing.
