I have been residing in the present house for more than five years now, paying high rent. Landlord has again hiked the rent to a level which i can no more manage. So, i am planning to shift to another place and house soon. Guys, how often you shift residences in your place? Once in three years or more?

I'm not a guy, but I'll answer your question. First, let me say that it seems that you've been left no alternative than to find more affordable accommodations.
When I was single, I lived 6 different places in 3 years. My father accused me of moving every time the rent came due. Not true. I had a valid reason each time. Usually it was a roommate problem, as I could not afford an apartment by myself on my salary. They would get married without giving me sufficient time to find another roommate. Once, the landlord sold the whole place. Once I took a room at the YMCA but hated it and moved out as soon as I could. Once, my roommate and I had a misunderstanding.
Finally, I was the one who got married. Even though my husband was in the military, we didn't move that often. We have lived at our current residence for well over 30 years.

Well, I live with my parents so I'm not sure if I count but we have been living in our house now for about 13-14 years! So it has been a long time. I'm not sure how often I'll move once I move out...but hopefully I won't have to move too often!
