Some ppl, I’m one of them, tend to watch the signs of things around me. If I’m planning something and things keep going wrong, I take that as a sign that it’s not a good time to do what I’m planning on. I’m not sure if that’s what you’d call superstitious or just cautious. I especially pay attention to things like that when it comes to trips. Recently my Mom decided to go up North for 2 weeks on vacation. From the start it seemed like everything kept going wrong. A loan fell through and took longer to finally get, unexpected bills popped up, there was trouble with the vehicles, my Grandma (who’s wheelchair bound) wasn’t in the greatest of health but really wanted to go, everyone was fighting over who was going and who wasn’t, my brothers dog (he was going too) had a litter of 13 puppies and to top it off my Stepdad’s father passed away. I told my Mom she needed to cancel the trip till another time. One minute she’d say she was canceling and the next she’d say she was going. Then she wanted me to go…which in honesty I’d like to see the water again but I can’t just go off and leave Hubby alone for 2 weeks. Well, they went…the trip too longer, Grandma ended up in the hospital for a couple days and it cost about 3 times what they thought it would. Personally, I wouldn’t have gone. I would have found something closer to home to do. Especially with all the signs of things going wrong. Would you take a trip if the signs were against you? Would you go even if it meant spending money you really didn’t have to spare? What kinds of signs would cause you to cancel a trip? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

OK, it is really funny you should bring this up because this is me. I am a great believer in signs. I just wish that I could learn to read them more clearly. So here is an example of some signs that are giving me reason to be a bit edgy right now and maybe you can tell me what you think. First a bit of background, about 12 years ago I used to have a lot of dreams about plane crashes, now I was never in them but they would happen around the house I lived in at the time. I would dream that either a plane would crash in the field just in front of my house or would explode over the top of my house and it would rain bodies into the garden. These dreams were pretty freaky, they must be as I remember them pretty vividly to this day. I saw these dreams as signs that I should not go on a plane again. OK to present day, we have over the years debated going abroad for our hols, the weather has been poor over here for a couple of years and we just want some sun. I have never wanted to go before because of my dreams, but now decided that OK we should go. Now we have not booked anything and are only in the process of doing the kids passports BUT ever since we started looking at holidays abroad things have happened, NOT in dreams this time but in the news. First a plane had a dodgy landing at the airport, then a plane had a big hole in its side, then two passengers tried opening the doors while the plane was flying, this has happened twice in the last few weeks and the last thing I read was that some notes were found on a plane saying there were bombs planted on it. Now to me they are signs that I should not get on a plane, now they to me are all signs of something bigger to come, and I am thinking that what if that something bigger is when I get on a plane???? I am proper scared of it!!!!

My personal look at it would be I wouldn't set foot on a plane. These all seem to be signs and maybe something would happen and maybe something wouldn't but why chance it. I'd look at visiting somewhere around where you live where theres better weather. It's just what I'd do so I wish you luck in whatever you choose to do. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

How about a cruise? Just don't watch The Titanic beforehand.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, now I just have to convince everyone else that we do not really want to go abroad!!

Good Lord but it looked like every one and their brother & sister was telling you to not go! The dog had puppies! That's 13 reasons not to go

I know what you mean...if I had a dog and it had 13 puppies the last thing I'd be thinking of is going on a trip. I've been trying to convince them to get the dog fixed before she has another litter but they just won't do it. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Homeless Puppes - Eleven of those puppies will probably end up either in bad homes or with out homes at all!
That makes me mad. Eleven of those puppies will probably end up either in bad homes or with out homes at all!

I don't really pay much attention to the signs of things. I usually trust my feelings. I find that they guide me well. If it does not feel right, I will not go on a trip. I will postpone it until things feel right again.

It sounds to me that something was telling them not to go. We should pay attention to things around us.If they had it would had saved them some money and they might of had a better time.Your Grandma might not have ended up in the hospital.I pay attention to things around me.

Hi Twoey you are really good at following signs as you say but I call that intuition...not all the time do I follow mine but when I do it is always right thing is I'm very stubborn and still do things even if everything is against me then pay the consequences after lol but thanks once again you have reminded me that this is something I need to do at the moment as there is a decision I have to make too this time!! bright blesssings littleowl

I think that would have been one trip I would have canceled. When everything goes against you when you are planning something, it's time to cancel the plans. To me, it's God's way of saying this isn't the time to do that. I wish I would have listened to the signs before marrying my second husband. Every thing was going against us while planning the wedding, but I didn't listen and our marriage lasted three months. I even got sick with strep throat our wedding night. Talk about the signs being right in front of you.

I look for signs all the time. If I am thinking of something and a light goes on , like a street light, I take it as a sign that whatever I was thinking is a good idea.

Im like you twoey, if things does not seem right i do not do it..I call it divine intervention...I know that once we were going to buy a house, well we had two houses to choose from, and my husband kept holding off because he did not feel right about it...Anyway about a week later, he told me about a dream he had..He dreamed that we chose this one house and our daughter had run into the road & got killed,we both took it as a sign & we did not buy...I think that if we will pay attention to signs & listen to our thoughts we will be guided in the right direction..I do go by signs..I have also ignored signs before and when i did it was not a good ending,so i always listen....I have been saved a lot of heartaches by listening to that small inner voice & watching the signs...

Well, I'm just like you and I usually cancel the trip because to me a trip should be full of enjoyment and excitement. When things go wrong it means that this might not be the right time to travel.

I watch for signs and if things are going wrong, I take it as a sign I'm not supposed to do it. I hope your mom did have some fun on the trip. They sure had a lot happen. I probably wouldn't have went.

Well, you should always trust your instincts. I have learned that in my life. It has protected me from doing something dangerous before. So, I guess that is sort of the same thing then. Trust you gut.

Oh yes I watch how things are coming together in events and such and if it comes together pretty easily and not too much hassel then I know it was meant to be but gosh when I was putting my wedding together I had one problem after another and another that I had to postpone it for a couple of months and still had problems. The worst one was my pianist was killed one month before my wedding. I was beside myself then and after a day or two I finally screamed "God, if it's meant to be then help me put it together but if it's not meant to be then let it fall apart and fall apart fast!" After that, things went really smoothly so apparently it was meant to be for we just celebrated our 17th anniversary.

I don't know if its superstition or not but if all those things happened I think I would just say the heck with it. Too much inconvenience. As someone said, I also believe that God might be trying to tell me something if things like that happen.

i don't believe in signs. i do believe nothing has meaning until you give it one. then and only then can it become what you want it to be. when you "see signs" they become what you want them to become by giving them meaning such as bad signs not to do something

That would be something to think about. I have had days that started out bad and got better and those that didn't. But sometimes I feel like that old Mary Chapin Carpenter line in her song "I feel lucky"..." "the stars are stacked against you girl, get back in bed". As John Lennon said "Life happens when you are making other plans." That is why I don't make many plans any more.

I guess I've never noticed signs too much. Tho I have to say that I have noticed that deaths seem to come in 3s. So if 2 famous people die, I'm worried who will be the next one (and hoping it isn't one I know or really like.) I've certainly never had bad signs before a trip, unless the former roomie getting appendicitus counts, but I couldn't stay home, I was flying with my mother and she had to have my help. If I am on a trip, I try to stay as much out of touch as I can so that people aren't calling me to ask questions all the time.

I don't really follow signs per say, but I do believe God opens and closes doors for us. Anytime I have ever tried to do something and things start going wrong like that, I know it is time to step back, and pray for Gods perfect will. Then if things continue to go wrong, there is no way I will continue to persue what I had planned. I will either reschedule or cancel completely. I would say 9 of 10 times, I did the right thing by being cautious.

Good day.. Well, I'm not superstitious but when things go wrong when I'm planning to do something, well I'll be curious and maybe if the trip is not that urgent then I might postponed it.
