What is the purpose of the image gallery?

From the profile page you can upload images to Mylot. I have uploaded several images from my computer and most of them display fine. Even the animated ones that do not appear to move will display as animated if I click on them. However, they are not available if I wieh to add an image to a discussion, instead I upload them again from my computer. So what is the purpose of this gallery? They cannot even be viewed by other Mylot users unless they visit my profile page.

I have no idea what the purpose of the image gallery is and can't even remember it On new mylot I would like to see some customisation options for the profile page though. I remember on the old site you could even embed things into your profile...I had an ip tracker that showed the countries and basic area of the people that visited my profile page.

Yes, several members had very ornately decorated profiles. The image gallery was a repository to upload images to, but seemed to serve no real purpose. It was thoughtful of you to look up this discussion, which will have been laborious.

@Asylum people that write nice discussions don't deserve to have one with no responses

@Mike197602 It was still a generous thing to do. This discussion is over 10 years old, so was not considered a problem.
