i have not yet taken my sewing to the next level and start sewing for a business although i would like to its just that right now i do not have the funds to get started up with i will probably start by sewing simple scarves and hats and selling them on craigslist to be honest i do not even know how to get started starting up my own business from online i would like to make my own web page but i do not want to have to pay for a domain name and it would be hard for me to find the time to dedicate to the business

I love to sew, but have not ventured in to the business world. I made plastic bag holder last year, and someone brought one. I planned to make some more, but my sewing machine needs service so have not being sewing.

I think it would depend on what kind of sewing you did. If you design your own stuff, then I would do both - set up online with a blog and an etsy store and go to some craft fairs. You can also take samples of your products around to stores - I read a blog once, I think it was posiegetscosy, that had a really good post about how to do this - she was a crafter who had a shop. I sort of did this with knitting, except I also found designers who wanted things knitted, and then they paid me for knitting it for them.
