I leave for vacation in 2 days so I went and bought a 2 Gig memory card for my camera. I wanted a fresh one since the ones I have are about full. I don't know that I'll take enough pictures for both cards - I usually take around 600-800 for a week vacation - but I like to be prepared just in case. I have almost 4 Gig of pictures on my computer (I need to back these up one day) and just love looking through them as memories. I also have a photo frame that rotates my pictures for me - that's awesome too! I should have quite a few pics to post when I get back!!!

Hey reiny, wish I knew what you were talking about. I have no idea about camera stuff. Wish I did! It's time I found out. I need to start taking some pictures too. I have no recent pics of may babies! They're so damn cute and so photogenic! I would love everyone here at mylot to admire how adorable they are! I'm such a proud mommie! I don't really go anywhere so I could just take pictures of where I live in Yonkers, NY. I'm sure someone might find that sort of interesting, at least maybe? Anyway I do think it's time I look into getting some kind of camera thing. So I guess when you get back I'll have to pick your brain about what kind to get. It has to be easy to operate because I'm not to bright when it comes to electronics! Anyway, enjoy your vacation and bring back loads of pics!

Opal, I work with the mentally handicapped, and they have learned about digital photography, probably better than I have. You will be great. I am sure someone will be interested in Yonkers, New York, because anywhere you look it is interesting to someone.

There really isn't a lot to the camera. I bought a Kodak Easyshare 4 years ago and love it. I don't even know what all the buttons are for, but I keep playing with it. There are a lot of simple ones out there, just check out a few of them on the web to get familiar with the lingo, then talk with a salesperson in the store. It is so much fun taking pictures to remember things by!

Happy vacation a congrats on the new 2G card. I'm sure there will be plenty of space for all the pictures. It's so nice to look back at all the pictures because of all the memories it brings. It may be expensive to have them printed at one point, but it's gonna be all worth it. Have fun.

I haven't printed pictures in soooo long... I have a photo printer, but don't use it for too many things.... That's one reason I bought the digital photo frame, it's so nice to have the pics all show up in a row...

Okay, so where did you buy it, and what did it cost you. I only have looked at Wal Mart so far, and they do not have any with that much memory. Have a terrific vacation, and think of us just a little bit. We will be looking for those pictures.

I wanted to know about the two gig card. I need one that big to download the family information my dad has accumulated.

I have a Kodak Easy Share DX570 or something like that. I bought it 4 years ago for about $300??? They don't make it any more, but I really do like the Easy Shares. Mine has a slot for memory cards, that's how I get so much memory. That way I can also take them out and put them in my digital photo frame and it plays them for me all day long! Oh, and I'll be thinking of you all, that's for sure!!! I'll have to take notes to I remember what I want to say!

Oh man, I'm sorry!!! I was so engrossed with the previous comment about cameras that my brain didn't make the switch that I had started the whole discussion about the cards!!! I musta been way tired last night :) I got my cards at Sams for $14.95 each. They also had 4 Gig cards, but my photo printer does better with the smaller ones.

that is one good thing to remember when travelling, too. have a back up battery just in case the one you have gets into some problems. i only have a 256mb memory card and that's why i need to transfer immediately the photos i've taken to my computer. i will also buy a 2 gig memory card for sure.

Yeah I have a 2 gb camera card too. I love it. I never filled it up. I think I can get over 1000. But I am not sure the exact amount. I guess it depends on the settings that you have set for the pictures. But usually whenever I take pictures from a vacation I usually take them right off and put them into my computer. So it will never get full. But it is good not having to worry about not having enough space on the camera. Because you don't want to miss anything.

I do keep mine on the card so that I can put it in my digital frame. And I think my 2 Gig holds 1240 pictures. That should last me a while :)

Thats alot of pictures, I can't take that many pictures in a year...lol. I have a digital camera but I don't use it much, and I always forget it when I go somewhere. You said that the other memory cards you have are full, don't you ever delete them? If you download all your pictures onto your computer, then its safe to empty your memory cards, so that way you don't have to keep buying new ones, they are made to use over and over again, just a little tip, maybe it will save you some money, because those memory cards aren't cheap. Well I hope you have a wonderful vacation and take lots of pictures....Have a good day

Oh, I love my digital frame! This weekend we're having tons of family and friends over and I'll put our vacation from the last 2 weeks on it so everyone can see the pics. They're expensive, but worth it, I want another one now :)

Actually, they are pretty cheap - $14.95 for 2 gig. I don't delete them because I have a digital photo frame that playes them for me so I keep putting them in there.
