Do you do anything with your kids you can call a tradition. We have a few things I guess we would call a tradition. We eat breakfast on Christmas morning before we open presents. We have done this since my son was old enough to walk. We eat Thanksgiving dinner at my Moms every year. I cook my kids a cake on there birthday every year. There is a tradition we have developed. It is PIZZA NIGHT.! Me and my kids go out for pizza ever Tuesday night, every week. I don't think we have misses a pizza night in 2 years. This is as important to my 18 year old as it is to my 13 year old. It gives us a chance to talk about the week, work, school, and our troubles. We laugh so hard about stuff sometimes we cry. We just can be our self and have fun, and let go. So do you have any kind of tradition. ? :-)

We have a few that we've started with our little ones. Christmas eve dinner is always homemade waffles. We make several different kids, plain, chocolate chip, apple, banana, etc. It started the year my son was born. I was recovering from a c-section and wasn't up to making a big Christmas eve dinner, so the hubby and I decided on waffles. We have started recently Friday night being cookie night. When my husband was little and then a teenager, his mom made these no bake cookies every Friday night, and we have continued the tradition with our son.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Waffles on Christmas day. Can't beat that with a hickory stick. Love the idea.

My kids and I had a few traditions when they were younger. They are grown now. We used to open one gift each, on Christmas eve, and we had movie night with lots of snacks. We would go and rent movies. We had many other things we did, but that is in the past now, but I still have good memories of those times.

We did pizza night for years and years on Friday. When the boys were young, elementary school age, we would go out on Saturday fishing, boating, swimming, or to the park. It was a tradition we would all lay out in the family room and watch a movie when we got home. It was great. The boys took turns picking the movie. We would snack or sometimes nap. Now they are grown men and still talk about the Saturday movies and how the "favorite Saturday movie" was Beetlejuice. We watched it about a million times!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I don't know what I'll do when my kids grow out of this. I know I'll miss them so much. My son live in the same house with me, as I said he is 18. I didn't talk to him this afternoon and I miss him. We watch movies a lot together, but that's not a tradition.
