My cat won't eat grass!

I bought the kit to grow grass for my cat Bigguy and he won't touch it! It grew to be a good height so I set it next to his food and although he's sniffed at it a couple of times he hasn't even tried eating it! I was under the impression that cat's liked grass. I know it's good for them and if he was an outdoor cat...which he isn't he would be eating it right? Does anyone have any ideas on how to get him to eat it? Should he be eating it or does it matter?

I dont know what to say about that. My cat likes grass. I bring it in for him every so often. The problem is that sometimes it makes him vomit. I dont want to be cleaning that up so I dont bring in alot of grass from the outdoors. Most cats do like grass, maybe it's jus the type of grass you are givig him that he doesnt like.

I bought a "kit" from a pet store and grew it myself from the seeds and it says it's the best quality...but who knows right?

I always thought that cats ate grass when they were not feeling well because it makes them throw up. It is supposed to be good for them?

My cats and my dogs only eat grass when they have a stomach ache of some kind. Sometimes it will settle their stomach and sometimes it helps them to throw up whatever is causing the discomfort. Grass is a medicine for them. It is not a food.

As others have said, cats eat grass to settle their tummies. Usually it makes them throw up, getting rid of whatever was causing the problem. If there is a hairball, they'll get that up, too. Just keep it for him whenever the need arises. There is a gel in a tube that is good for hairballs. It's tuna flavor, so most cats like it. We have some that don't; they get plain Vaseline which they don't mind for some reason. I just put a dab on a front paw and they lick it off. Good luck with Bigguy.

Well I have been keeping cats as my pet since many years for now.You simply can't force them to eat grass. They do eat grass but not often.I noticed whenever the cat doesnt have a good stomach that day my cat used to eat grass in order to maintain the body stability.I feel eating grass for them work as medicine whenevr they have a stomach disorder. So dont worry and you will see they will eat grass whenever they need it.
