Don't you hate it when you don't have the money?

I like finding really good deals and cheap things, who doesn't? The problem that I always have is that whenever I stumble upon something cheap or a really good deal I never have the money to spend on it. In the long run it would save me a lot usually depending on how good the deal is. I just usually don't have the money to get whatever it might be. Does this ever happen to you? Do you just forget about the deal or do you try and find a way to get the money to buy the product? If you try and get the money how do you do it? Do you use a credit card, borrow it from someone? Don't you just hate it when you don't have the money when you find a really good deal? I do, because I know it would have saved me money in the long run.

What a good question, o2bnocn! It will be interesting to see what other people say. It would depend on what kind of deal it is. If it was clothes, jewelry, shoes, a decorative item for the house or something like that, I would not worry about it. However, if it was something like hamburger at 75 cents/pound, break at 2/$1 or some fabulous deal like that, I would juggle my budget to load up on the special. Maybe I would cut down on milk for the week or use powdered milk. Maybe I would take my lunch instead of eating out. Perhaps I'd skip a few coffees on the way to work. Things like that. I have a HUGE family and we all exchange gifts (birthday and Christmas) so I'm always looking for great gift deals/ideas. Last year, just after Christmas, I was leaving Wal*Mart and saw some Hello Kitty Pez sets that had been reduced from $10.00 to $2.50. I snatched up four immediately for some of my grandnieces. I didn't really have the extra $10.00 (4 x $2.50) at the time but I juggled my money and did without a couple of things and was very happy I had when December came rolling around.

First, I want to thank you for the best reply designation. I'm truly honored. One way that might be easy to save is to put aside just $5 each week for any really great buys you might run across. Now, for me to consider something a really great buy it has to be at least 75% off (for something like a gift item) or $1/pound for meat, something super spectacular like that. A few months ago, I saw that the Disney website had a great sale going on + a coupon for flat rate shipping ($5 no matter how much you bought). I bought a Lightning McQueen jacket for $14.99 (had been $44.50), a Princess denim jacket for $9.99 (had been $39.50), two Mickey Mouse Clubhouse nap pads for $6.99 each (had been $34.50) and several large 18" plush Pooh bears for $2.99 (had been $24.50). I thought those were fabulous prices and great gifts for some of my grandnieces and grandnephews. I do put money away each time I get paid so I had the money sitting in a gift account and didn't have to worry. Another thing that might help you with stretching your income is to differentiate between needs and wants. If your budget is so tight that you're struggling to get your bills paid (and I'm not saying you in particular, just "you" in general), there's no way you should be robbing Peter in order to buy something that isn't necessary (a want). When I pick up something at a store, I make myself answer the question, do I really need this or do I just want it? More often than not, I put the item down and it's forgotten by the next day.

That is a good idea, to just deal without some things so that you can get whatever it might be on sale. I agree it might not be a good idea depending on what is on sale. I will be looking for sales and promotions going on soon for Christmas. I already know I am not going to have much money so if I can come across some good deals and promotions it will really help me out. Plus I love finding promotion on things, it saves a lot of money sometimes.

Oh yes, I hate when I find a good deal and don't have the money to take advantage of it. It is very frustrating. I don't use credit cards so if I do not have the cash then I don't really need the item that bad. There are some monthly bills that have to be paid. There is no getting around them. There are no deals to be had. But it is so frustrating when you have no money to pay the bills and be done with them. My stress level just skyrockets when I have unpaid bills and find a good deal at the same time.

Yeah it is really aggravating when you find a really good deal and you don't have the money. A lot of times it doesn't bother it me, it just does when I find a really good deal. Or when I find something that I have been wanting or need that is cheap or on sale.

Hi o2, I have that feeling too..Before, I use to borrow from my Sister when I like to get something that is very affordable..now, when I have no money, I will not also go out because I know i will just be going home thinking about what I have seen which I can't take home!

Yes I hate that too. But sometimes I just have to tell myself that I probably wasn't supposed to have it for some reason. Sometimes I will try to find the money if it is something that I really just can't pass up. I don't wish I was rich but I do wish I had enough so I wouldn't have to worry about money.

I wish that two. I often just forget about whatever it might be that is on sale. It aggravates me though when I find a really good deal, like something half off. I will try and get the money somehow but if I can't then I will just not worry about it.

Yes i do! I usually buy it anyway with credit and pay it off later. Only because my credit card has no interest for the next year! But otherwise I would just have to leave it behind and feel sad knowing that was a steal.

Oh, I hate it so much. I dont have enough money, and now, I still dont have a job. So I dont go to malls or shops that sells cheap stuffs. Because when I find something I like, I cant buy them and it makes me feel so sad and depressed.
