well i really don't care to be frank. i think mylot is a big place with many people actively participating. so everybody has a fair chance. one should not really bother about these things on mylot. just enjoy your time. i have seen many of my discussions repeating but all is taken in a ok way...

If the discussion is close enough to have been copied, report it. Do not worry about the person losing money as this type of thing would be considered cheating. You would be doing the site a service by reporting the person. Now if the topic is the same as my topic but not copied and the poster has his/her own viewpoint on that topic, I don't worry about it. I will even join in and respond to that person. I might learn something new about the topic if I give the poster a chance to discuss it.

Frankly, THIS discussion has been done before too. Does that mean we should report it? I think you need to remember that with almost 140,000 people on here, there will be some duplication. As the Bible says, "there is nothing new under the sun." Unless someone copied your discussion word for word, I really don't see that it should be a problem. We each bring a different slant to things, because we're all unique individuals.

I will be unhappy a little. Then I will omit it. I don't think he does it on purpose. I believe most of the people are kind and honest. If the discussions are completely the same, I will not angry because he has the right to do it if he don't feel improper.

Nope, i dont get angry when a friend has written a topic or subject that i have written already, because each one of us has its own thought, and we should always respect, that matters, theres always something new to be learned in any situation.

Just to make it clear...is the second discussion an exact copy/paste of your discussion? If so then it should be reported because that is a clear rule violation. That person deserves to lose the money they earned because using copy/paste to steal someone else's work is cheating. If the second discussion is just on the same topic, then it really isn't worthy of reporting. Yes, we should search to see if a topic has been done before but it's really unreasonable to expect everyone here to come up with completely unique topics all the time. Posting a similar discussion with a user's own twist is completely acceptable. You should find a recent discussion by myklj about this very issue.

I used to but now no more because maybe I have also started a discussion that was started before unknowingly. It's really bad way but I don't think of it anymore. It's usual I have seen some discussions started more than 4-5 times with only a slight change in language.

This is a large site with many ongoing conversations, so overlap is bound to happen. Don't be too concerned about it unless, as others have said, it was directly copied from your posting; otherwise, accept that imitation is the "sincerest form of flattery."

Hi... Nice to meet you here. For me i wont angry. Cause the population here are really too scary. Too many people here and have thousands of discussion. So sometimes we will repeat the same discussion that other people maybe had started before. So i wont get angry. Just will feel a bit disappointed. I met few times before that the discussion i had started same as other people discussion. So if other people started the same discussion as mine the i wont angry. Cause i did the same thing also. Have a nice day my friend!! Happy Myloting!!!

It sure is irritating but coincidentally or not, some people have the same ideas.I've posted a discussion before which got little response then after several days I saw a similar discussion with so many responses.I don't worry about it too much.I just type away and let things be.Don't mind it the least bit.Don't let your blood pressure rise with myLot.It won't do you any good.Stay cool!

it's really frustrates, when we see the similar posts as we posted. But there are so many people in mylot with similar thoughts, so no need to worry about that.

Maybe the person that posted the topic didn't know or didn't realize that they have the same topic as your. I think it will be better if you send them a personal message first and tell them that you've started the topic first, and ask them to remove the discussion, if they didn't listen, you should report them... that way it will be fair for both side... cheers,

I also encountered this experience. One of my discussions was included on the today's top discussions. One member responded to that topic which suddenly copied that discussion an hour after he responded. Some of my MyLot friends alarmed me about it. Fortunately, it was deleted immediately by MyLot. My reaction is fine. In most cases it'll happen. Some discussions have duplicate and/or identical titles but with different body texts.

If that is the case,In my part I will not angry. Maybe he or she like your topic and she want to reveal your discussions. If he or she will continue copying your other discussions maybe that the time you will be angry.Try also to ask him why.

There are hundreds of discussion's at mylot and how can we no if someone has already posted a discussion unless we look through every single discussion that is made at mylot i think that we shouldn't be so quick to report people becuse its possible to unknowingly post a similar discussion i would only get mad if someone copy's my discussions word for word and if it were really obvious that they intended to copy me i think we should only report people if were absolutely sure of wrong doing.

Same subject but different descriptive content, it is unblamable because maybe he/she did not read the discussion started by you; but as for the same subject and same words in the description as yours, it shall be reported and blamed.

if he or she is discussing exactly the same point of that topic then i will feel very bad. but it is also possible that he may not be aware of u writing on the same topic

if the discussion is exactly the same as the one you posted, i think you really have the right to be angry. Otherwise, if it's just the same topic, everyone is entitled to hi/her opinion.
