Yes, Kaezy, I have all of mine turned on, but, I don't think they all have me turned on. I only seem to get notified from the same ones all the time. I can't believe those are the only ones posting. I think both of us have to have notify turned on for it to work, right?

Oh, I don't mean you Kaezy, I get notifies all the time when you post. And you probably don't get many for me because I don't start many discussions. I rather reply to other peoples posts. I have trouble coming up with ideas for discussions and I don't like just saying any old thing to start a discussion. Now, I don't mean you here either but, I believe some people like you say, "flood our inboxes" with such trivial topics they're not even worth reading. Happy MyLotting to you and have a great day my friend.

hi kaezy_kulet
currently i have it 'on'. Because it helps me to find out who is posting or sending response to what. Friends expect response from friends. So it helps me to reply on their posting. I guess you can set your e-mail preference to stop mylot to send you an email regarding this.

Hi
If you think that you'll be a nonsense, then don't do this. But, i think, to find out who has started what, you won't have to use your sense, rather if you use your 'home' page and have patience to read it little carefully, you'll come know who has started which topic. A 'non sense', like me, uses this simple technique and that's how i do response to my friends topics. Thanks.

I have all my notifications switched on for everyone! I have had times when my inbox has been flooded with notifications but I just delete them if the person is just setting them for the sake of setting them because they are usually no good. Other than that, for all the friends I have and the fact that the notifications are on I do not really get a vast amount of notifications so it is not too bad.

No, I always respond to ALL my friends discussions if I can, but every once in while a person will come along that I add as friend and they set about thirty discussions a day that are all one liners or are not really a discussion, these are the ones that I delete, they are not worth answering because many of them will be deleted off the Lot anyway.

Hello kaezy_kulet,
I never turn mine to off because they are my friend and I am always interested in their discussions no matter what even if I have to sit and respond to them all day I would, well thats just me. I like to think that I'm always here for them.

I have them all off. They flood my email inbox and there is really no reason to get them since I can find out what happens when I sign into Mylot.

I just entertain all of them, if i don't feel like commenting then, just ignore but i don't turn off because i also do not want to make them feel bad at me. They are just practicing their freedom of expression. Just don't get bothered about it.

hi kaezy!
like you, i only have selected friends which i turned the notification on. i have more than pages of friends and if i turned on the notification for all of them, yahoo might force me to switch into a bigger non-free account. ^__^;; for me, the advantage of having notifications turned on for some friends is that, i can save time. i mean, i wouldn't have to go to the "discussions my friends started" and choose discussions to which i would like to respond. i wouldn't have to go over their profiles and see if i can respond to one of their discussions. and also this way, i can be updated as to all the discussions they have started without missing anything. and then, its easy to choose discussions to respond to in my email rather than choose them in the "discussions my friends started" page.

Hi kaezy,
I have over 400 friends but not all of them are active but still I turn on the notifications..As I approve the request and when my request was approve, it means to me that I have an obligation to them as a friend and no matter if I will be having a hard time catching for their post, at least, I am trying to be present in their post by responding!

When I first accept a friend I will always turn notify on.
I like to read all the notifications I get of new discussions started by my friends every day, then I can pick and choose which ones I want to respond to.
Some of my friends discussions are interesting but I have nothing to say about the subject, and others are on a topic I can know nothing about, which is outside my life experience.
I may turn notify off if a friend starts flooding the site with new discussions. I don't like to get twenty emails in an hour about discussions from the same person. I may also turn it off if a person only starts discussions which are just one line and I can't give a response to any of them.

If they are on you can read thier stuff as it comes in, and you don't have to let it all pile up. I find that pretty convenient, and like knowing when my friends post new things. The downside is sometimes all the emails can get really out of hand.

Hi kaezy. I did turn my friends notification on. The advantage of it is that whenever a friend starts a discussion, I will see it right away. And It will be easier for me to answer more discussions without browsing through pages. Keep postings. HUGZ!

Hi there!
I also have my friend's notifications on. I always like to turn them on cause I want to know my friend's discussions. I'm not used to checking them on my mylot tabs so I have them on my email so I can choose who to respond to and what interesting topics they have post. In that way I don't really have a hard time searching for discussions. It's much easier for me that that way.
But you're right. It does floods our emails. I sometimes get
disappointed cause when I check my email every morning I get excited if I have lots of email and I thought it was because many have responded to my post but rather I would see discussions from my friends. But I don't turn the notification off. I just delete the emails.
Ciao!

Yes the problem with having the notification on is you get loads of email.I have thousands unread and starting to open and read randomly
it takes so much of my time
Despite that email flooding i never though of turning it off, silly of me.Just carry on here if i have time i'll check the email.

I have all of my frenz notifications, ON.. haha.. Because there's no harm in turning them all on, as it gives me a choice to pick and choose the ones i wanna respond to.. BUt most of the time, i will respond to most of them only for a couple which i dun really understand and i will leave them out..
But still i think it's an advantage to turn ON all, as sometimes they might just start a new special discussion that interest u.. ON top of that, in this way, we need not look for discussions to respond to as they will auto come to us.. lol

almost 95% in my friends list are turned on. i want to receive notifications of their new discussions from my inbox. i want this so i can give my response directly from my email program and this made it easier for me, more convenient than going to the page and searching, browsing for discussion which will interest me to give response. though i receive a lot of notifications, i am not responding to all of them. i only give responses to topics that i can relate and when i can give help.

Hi,
I currently have most of my notifications on for my friends. There are a couple that I might be turning off, because like you said, they floor your email box with a lot of topics during the day. Some people also start useless discussions and ones I'm not interested in joining in so I just don't want to be bothered by those.

I never change anything as far as notification is concerned. I always thought that the default is on. I was wrong when someone asked me if I have notifications turned on for her.

From now on I will turn it on for only those who request it because I don't want to get their mailboxes full.
