Everyone want to be a up student. However, not all can get it. Sometimes , a few of them are intelligent. But for me,still a normal girl. Most of them that i have met are studying very hard. We should accept the facting.I believe a famous saying:Making up for a lack of natural talent by hard work.

that is exactly what i meant.. if you are not that gifted intellectually, you can always work hard to keep up with the others.. no one is dumb if he just aims for the best

yeah.. they really give quality education. When you talk about group work, good thing is that everyone helps and does his part. I think that's what makes it advantageous

I'm a UP-Manila student, but I'm going to transfer to La Salle-Taft next November. I would always thank UP for the quality education. I have to transfer because the UP system would'nt allow me to shift in any UP branch anymore because I have more than 90 units already. I would agree that MOST but not all UP students are diligent! you wouldn't have a hard time doing group work with MOST of them. hehe

All those who enter UP are intelligent. The level of intelligence of each student differ though. The "dumbest" according to UP standards is sometimes the most intelligent in other schools.

well, that is what others think of UP students are, that all of you out there are intellegent.. well, no one could deny the fact that you did have high standards with regards to your school. that is your trademark.. you are worldly known.. however, time had changed. time changes everything. there are other schools right now who are far better than your school,.. and to correct, not all of your students are intellegent. diligent is the word, maybe because of the pressure that is put into your head when entering that said school... and as of now, i didnt hear of any awards from the UP anymore.. and i guess, La Salle and other schools like MSU-IIT in Mindanao is competing with your school.. no offense.. peace!

Why of course we wouldn't be studying there in the first place if we weren't right? I think that it's also about excellence that's why we are intelligent. Also I think it's part of us being the ones who do things differently. When no one dares to do this surely one UP student would dare. It's not about where you came from but where you are right now because of your hard work and UP students are that.

well, that depends on your definition of intelligence or which type of intelligence you may be referring to.. and if by intelligent you mean high scholastic aptitude, then the next question would be: if up students are intelligent, going by that definition, then what makes them so? Is it because of the upcat, the academic standards, etc.?

hi remrick.. this is a great feedback I have received from you. I guess I wasn't that specific with my definition of intelligence. Well, I mean that UP students are well-known for being outspoken, for having very brilliant ideas and they truly have excelled in their various careers that they have chosen. The school has set high academic standards and most UP students have reached it and even surpassed the school standards. that is my opinion.. I'm not comparing UP to other schools though. This blog only pertains to the capabilities of UP students thank you

I think that don't apply to all UP students. UP's standard of learning is the best in the country but not in the world. During my first year in UP, I was lazy and still I almost got a CS standing.
