Well right now I am completely out of it. This doesn't happen to me often though. I think, I need to chill out a bit. My friend is there to support me though. He has been a great sport taking in all the drawls and rants. Thanks to him.
So, do you run out of ideas and feel like a dumber?
What do you do then?
[i]Happy chilling out.
Happy mylotting.

Good you have a friend to take all your drawls and rants. Not everyone is so lucky. Past two days my mind has been blank and cannot even think of what to post for replies to my own discussions. Just seem to have gone dumb the past 48 hours. I think I need to chill out.

Dear mayka

And BTW, are you chilled out? You take care hon and do PM me when and if you want to vent out.

You are not alone Mimpi. Certainly not alone. I've run out of ideas too and it's happening off late. I sratch my head, thump the table and still blank
. Dumb I think is an understatement for the way I've been feeling about it. Well I'd rant as well, like i'm doing now.
Chilling out may seem like a good idea, on the other hand i'll look to draw inspiration from wonderful friends like you. Well you came up with an idea, i'm pretty sure now i will.
Happy chilling out and mylotting to you too.

When I feel like a dumber I take a smart pill...or eat an egg. Did you know that egg yolk have brain food in them. Hubby and I take a food supplement called PS (Phosphatydalserine) and I joke that if I can spell it, then it must be working.
I never, ever, ever, ever run out of ideas. I used to tell my writing students there is no such thing as writer's block, and I meant it. Low self-esteem? Yes. But not writer's block. It is the same with any loss of creativity. People immobilize themselves with shame or fear and then start looking for a disease to blame it on, but truly we all have high and low spots and everyone gets tired and discouraged once in a while, you know, but then the sun comes out another day. What do I do? Take a walk or take a nap or both! Eat something healthy, do an anonymous good deed, and boom, everything starts flowing again.
You are a great person. Nothing can keep you down.

Hi drannhh
Eating healthy, doing anonymous good deed, nap would certainly work for me. Thanks. And by the time I can spell PS I would definitely come up with great ideas!
lol..

Hey, Anne, I was hoping I spelled it right. FOS-FAH-TIDAL-SAY-REEN works for me, with emphasis on the first and fourth syllables. Lecithin grandules are cheaper and do pretty much the same thing, but it is hard to get some people to eat them. Food sources of lecithin are eggs, green leafy veggies, liver, soy, and whole grains.

If I could pronounce PS the right way, then I would feel much smarter. And then I would just keep using that word in conversations that do not even call for it so people who just nod their heads and think I knew what I was talking about.

Hi mimpi1911! There are times that I do run out of ideas too but I just take a break from it all. I really don't get pressured by it for I know once that I have relaxed and unwind, I will be soon up and running again. I guess, it happens to everyone in all the things that we do, be it here in mylot, in our work or even in just the simple task of cooking and preparing meals each day. We just have to relax and let go for a moment. So, you are right..we just have to chill out once in awhile. haha..
Take care always..God Bless!

Heya, yeah I do run out of ideas and it happens more than I like. There are those times when you just need lots and lots of ideas but not even one comes up but when you dont even need them anymore, they start pouring in.tsk3 Whenever I do run out of ideas I just take a break. It keeps me from thinking too much that I dont come up with at least one. AFter a short break or even during the break Im bound to get some inspiration for an idea or two so it works.

If you are talking about ideas related to myLot especially then I can relate to this! I have been struggling lately to get inspired to respond to topics and to come up with my own and have been looking further afield on this site in sections I would have never even considered a year ago!
In the real world though, thankfully my mind still seems to be functioning OK in the creative sense! Given my line of work it would be a nightmare for me if I was to suddenly run out of ideas!

Lucky you!
I would never want to run out of ideas James. You people kinda inspire us and if you are without ideas we would reduce to mere cadavers!

The human brain can of course, multitask, but not to that extreme ends. So if you have a constant source of tension at the back of your mind, you won't be able to just shove it off, go ahead and be a fountain of imagination! Well, this may not have been the case for you, but it certainly has been for me. And that's when I decide to take a long break from myLot, the one I call hibernating mode. It's when my semester starts. The syllabus is so huge and I have to cram such a load of stuff into my head that I simply can't think of any response or new discussion. And what do I do then, you ask? Well, just try and try to cram in a bit more in there, to make me pass in a little better manner than the previous exam, what else? Cheers.

Same as you - doesn't happen to me often, thankfully.
I happen to run out of ideas usually when I deliberate to ideate - otherwise, normally I'm full of fabulous ideas. The only sad thing is, I bank on my memory power invariably and have lost quite a few ideas thus far that could have been fabricated into amusing discussions or articles.
What do I do then?
If I MUST conceive of ideas, I will try to quit thinking and try looking for external sources for ideas. Read a book, or newspapers, watch T.V, surf Internet, etc...they are full of ideas and they can trigger new ideas in you.

Your right we are often ran out of it, this makes me think that mylot becomes difficult sometimes, it reaches the very bottom of our brain.. lol.
That makes me think of refreshing my old discussions today since I am out of it too, I don't know much later.

"Trying to think of more possible ideas to make up for the seeming lack of ideas" could be a good idea too.
