I think the Olympic Games will have an effect on many aspects. It makes me to be much more interested in sports. Not only watching it, but also participate it.

Participation is always a good thing. Even if not for competition, it is good for your health. It will be good for your little boy to grow up in a home where physical activity is appreciated.

This is the first time I realized that I love gymnastics just as much as I like figure skating. I like the other sports , but gymnastics is the sports reason I will watch the summer games. And I got to see the beauty of China. Remember I thought NBC, the t.v. network that aired The Olympics, would use The Great Wall for going to and coming back from commerical breaks? Well they did and they showed me wild horses running free in a meadow. And a huge Buddha face carved into a mountain, and the Forbidden City.My favorite scene was the shot of the highway and the skyline from Beijing. It reminded me of New York and L.A. When I saw it I knew people are the same all over the world and it is great.

lol..the Olympics this time brought me nothing more than a lot of work. I didn't have the time to watch any of the ceremony or the games. Earlier I would watch everything and really enjoyed it.But my son was thrilled and insisted on an Olympics theme birthday party (though his birthday was on the 1st of Sept, we are having the party on the 13th).

Oh yes he is:) And I am happy about it. I just couldn't watch the games because of my busy schedule and I'm glad he was watching the games instead of some stupid cartoons. I just hope the party goes as well as the real Olympics..lol

This is why I may not reach the minimum payout this month. Because I spent most of my free time watching the Olympics.

For me the Olympics had the effect of watching humans excel their endurance, and their performance was outstanding, knowing they gave their best and to achieve so much after all their hard work at training, it also makes you feel proud of your countries entrants. I don't usually watch sport on television but the Olympics was special and different and I especially enjoyed the weight training part because I am a keen weight lifter myself.

I am impressed. People say I can even lift the weightlifting bar. I wonder whether it's true, is it so heavy?

It would mean more to me if it was held in a country other than China. The controvercy in CChina, and their many human rights violations has totally soured me on the 2008 Olympics. I have no interest in them what-so-ever, not even when Canada or Denmark win medals. I just don't like what China is doing, and all the promises the country has broken. I am not against Chinese people themselves, rather their form of government, and what is happening because of it.

I don't agree with you. Perhaps this Olympics isn't perfect, but it is no doubt that we tried our best to hold a great Olympic Games. Olympics isn't a political event. And when you talk about the bad human rights in China, actually you ignore its improvement. And it will keep on developing better. China's human rights is better than before. Please try to find more information about it.

As you said the medal winning performances of the athletes will sow a good ambition for the youngsters to try and emulate the feet of them. It certainly brings aspirations and lifts them to a greater height. To me, i update in my memory the record timings, the stats, the performances, and about the top performers.. may to add an extra color ..to my chats when i have with my friends..

The 2008 Olympics gave me nothing but a bad taste in my mouth. I have never seen such a farce in the history of the Olympics. There has been so much dishonesty, cheating and lying that I cant remember anything else. I have started several discussions on the games. ALmost everyone who responded felt as it was terrible. Its so hard to root for your team when there's talk of them being unfairly treated. I cant wait until Sunday. It will all be over. I still cant get past the fact that they wouldnt let a little girl sing because she wasnt cute enough. COME ON R THEY SERIOUS? dl

A lot of cheering, crying and overall appreciation for the people who train and participate in the Olympic games. When I felt the girls gymnastics were being railroaded by a bunch of dolts I was furious but the American gymnists kept their composure and poise, that's true Olympism.

I am only an audience, such kind of thing I felt the same like you in the past Olympics. But I am not professional in this, the judge should have a professional eye to judge it. And this time the score system is different than before and this is one reason why Liukin can't win the gold medal.
