I have no doubts about the Bible. It is an interesting collection of myths and fables. Parts of it are a good read but there are some parts that are a crushing boor. It is certainly not a history or science book and most definitely not a users manual for life.

thank you for the honesty my friend. what i want you to know right now is that the Bible is not just a collection of myths and fables. all of it had happened in history. it is the History of the Israel people, the chosen people of God. and most of all, the Bible holds the story of the greatest love of all time, that is, the love of God to human kind. my friend, i pray that you would looked at the Bible one day with a different perspective. that it is not just an ordinary book, but a special one from the Maker.. and most of all, IT IS A USERS MANUAL FOR LIFE. FOR IN THE BIBLE, WE SEE JESUS CHRIST AS THE ONE WHO GIVES LIFE. SO IT IS A MANUAL FOR LIFE.. THANK YOU...

Personally, I think it's obvious the Bible is on the same level as all of the other holy books throughout the years--just legends and myths, without any proof of any of the 'big claims'.

You can't have it both ways. If God is beyond human reckoning, then he is beyond definition. And if he is beyond definition, what is that but basically an admission that all of the definitions and descriptions of God's feelings, motives, even appearance are made-up (as they would literally HAVE to be)?

Because we are not God proof and logic are important to us. The power of God passes all understanding.... That is unthinkable by human standards. It is a matter of heart and soul, of faith in some greater than ourselves.

thank you for the replies my friends.. well, we dont really have to debate on this thing. what i want you to know is that the Bible is the WORD OF GOD. it holds a lot of HIS promises and a lot of truths that will surely be of essential to all of us when we really understand it.. surely, the enemy has blinded our eyes that even with merely believeing the Word of the Lord, would be that hard for some persons.. my friends, those who doubt the Bible, why don't you challenge God that He would prove to You that He is real and true through the Bible/?... thank you!

jingbautista. Yes I have doubts about the bible. Starting in genesis Abraham is portrayed as a pimp who gave away his wife to the Pharaoh. Tell me how you would feel if your husband/man did that to you.

jingbaustista, isn't amazing how Sarah helped him father the nation. After treating her so badly, she gave him her maid to sleep with then turn around and chased her out of the house when she was pregnant. It is hard to accept these as examples to teach our children.

thank you for the honesty my friend. and hope that we will be friends.. well, to start with. the Bible holds its integrity.. it is a record of the things that the Lord has done to His people.. and with its integrity, it does not hide the flaws and imperfections of humans.. it shows right there that Abraham is still a man in human flesh, that is subjected to failures.. but i want you to see his life that even he did it,(it is really a mistake), GOD was still faithfull to carry out His plan for the whole nation through Abraham, and that is why we are right here now.. i hope to share to you even more ...thanks..

well, that is another flaws of the humans that is used by God in the Bible,.. it just shows that we are really humans.. mam, i suggest that when you teach your children, focus on the character of God. of how He was transforming those persons He use for His purposes. like those of Abraham, though he had sinned and had mistakes, focus on how God changed it .. not merely erasing his mistakes, but on what did God do when after Abraham did it.. and surely, Abraham was rewarded as person with faith.. God is also hurt with what he did and his wife. but God is the God of grace and mercy. He forgave them. just as we are too. if we are to believe in HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, we will also be forgivenn,. and my friend, i strognly suggest that you teach first Jesus CHRISt to your children. and you will see that JESUS was living a perfect life, that is because of HIS great love for you and me... my friend, focus on JESUS FIRST. and surely HE will guide you...

I wonder why you wish to know why others don't see the "reality" of the Bible? Friend Islander, before me, has put it aptly. I couldn't have put it better. The Bible is a collection of myths and fables. Maybe a bit of history is interspersed in it. But it contains no cosmic truths. As far as I noticed, the Bible is a very violent book, full of terrifying threats. I would not accept anything like that as "truth." Cheers and happy mylotting

wow, i wonder why you had said all those things. maybe you are already pre judging the Bible that is why you don't see its content. maybe you had said those things because the Bible is only saying of what is true. and what is real. it speaks about them. my friend, the Bible is telling us that we all sinned.. that is violent though. and much worst, we are going to hell because of it.. but my friend, you fail to see the cream of the crop, that is, JESUS CHRIST.. HE came to rescue us and to save us from our sins.. HE alone can save you and protect you, and not with other else... hope that you would read the Bible, asking God to guide you through especially in knowing HIm, through His son, JESUS CHRIST.. JESUS CHRIST loves you!!! it is all in the Bible!!!

Absolutely not. I have experienced to many "miracles" in my life to ever doubt it. I have transformed into a new person because of it. I see that Matthew 5:11 has been quoted... What more can anyone say

Some will swear it is the word of God written by inspired men, I don't have any problem with that, but, based on some of the stories I read, they must have been written by men when they were either drunk or deaf or maybe both. God couldn't have any part in the dictation.

my friend, those persons are just humans. in fact all of the persons that were used by God have their own flaws and failures.. but JESUS didn'have,.. HE lived a perfect life.. HE is our example.. and when it comes to writing the Bible, in times that this Words were written, they are inspired by a HOLY GOD.. and there is no doubt that they should be drunk.. GOD is holy, and HE requires holiness too.. and my friend, dont you see it? the way the Bible was writen was without any bias at all?...the failures of the great leader were also written to guide us and to lead us.. hope that it enlightened you.. please do visit our website.. www.arisechristian.org.. ane be encoruaged with the people who believe in God. those people in the mountains...

I used to believe in the Bible totally. But since I have become a Gnostic Christian, I have learned that many books of the Bible have been left out and the Bible has been revised so many times. God is not to be feared,God is all loving. You also do not need to go to church to be 'saved'.God does not care how much $$ you give the church, just as long as you believe in him.

I believe in God,Jesus and such. I believe in most of the Bible it is just that the church(Catholic church back then) omitted books of the Bible and revised it so many times. They wanted people to fear God and come to church and give them money. A Gnostic Christian is a seeker of truth. It is not the same as agnostic.I know where I am going when I die.I am a spiritual person, not religious.(although I do belong to a Lutheran church so my son can go to Sunday school and get some religious background like I did,I was baptised and confirmed a Lutheran.)Long story that has to do with being divorced.(my ex was horrible)

i am sorry to comment my friend. but when we say that we are Christians, then we are following JESUS. we reading His WOrd through the Bible. the fact that you doubted, and that you leave the fellowship, then there must be wrong with you being a Christian.. a Christian will never lack of God's leading. it is us who do not follow God. that is why oftentimes we are living a life of stress and loneliness. well, i hope that we could be friends.. there are a lot of things i want to share to you...

I don't 'doubt' it per se, history says its been altered and mistranslated, and basically I haven't found it much more true than other holy books, they're all basically attempting to interpret the uninterpretable, which means choosing to have it as the basis of one's life is up to the individual. I think it's silly how people think there can be only one truth. Variables say that what's true in one instance or experience isn't necessarily true in another, so, I figure...what's true for some people is not true for all. I'm quite content in my flexible faith. I can't be defined as christian, even though my beliefs don't often directly conflict with the Bible, so meh.

Yes, I doubt it... Different collections OT: Book of Moses, Prophets, Writings of different people NT: Gospels by different people, writings of different apostles. No uniformity in its writings. Christians says OT is not supposed to follow, but bundle together as Bible, OT seems like direct speech of God though. NT is never a direct speech of God, it is like third parties saying about Jesus and acts of disciples. Bible itself claim Law is corrupt: Prophet Jeremiah came after Moses, In his book it says:- Jeremiah 8:8 "How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie." Bible theologians says Bible was not written by Jesus or all by direct companions. It was written in a period of 1500 years upto 180 years after Jesus. However Bible theologians agree there is no manuscripts of NT exists that can be dated back less than to 3rd century. And there were several manuscripts with difference, and there were several writings as well. Bible theologians says all those writings were written by several people, because they are KNOWN to be prophets! So Christians are more inclined to believe many prophets after Jesus. But check the words in it, it is in their own or a third party words and not from God. How do we know that it is inspired by Holy Ghost? Did Jesus say believe in prophets after him and they will write scriptures from Holy Ghost inspiration? If so why it stoped? there should exists more poeple adding upto Bible from Inspiration of Holy Ghost? Jesus came to fulfil the Law and Christians came to abolish it.
