Interesting or Not?

People have different interests. Not everybody will look at your discussions. Then there is repetition. There is only so often that people are willing to reply to questions like what is your favorite color, food, whatever, or what is your nickname;) Another point is timing. There is times where people post a lot of discussions and yours might quickly go to page three/four... or you post at a time of low traffic and by the time people come who might have an interest in the discussion, it also might already have made it to page three/four. I think most people don't check past page two or so. I think I have one discussion without a reply. That frustrates me a bit each time I go through my unresolved discussions, because without a reply I can't resolve it by marking a best answer. So it just sits there. Otherwise I don't care. I rarely post a discussion. I enjoy replying more. I go through the no response discussions frequently to see if there is something I can add in order for this person to have a response. It's also interesting to see what discussions didn't garner a response and at what time they were posted;)

When ever I made an discussion which has the substance and good material to read and learn from it or to enjoy of it. Usually it fetches responses. Generally the things are that some time for my the discussion is interesting but for the people of other cultures it is meaning less and they do not respond. I think at my lot there are people from all faiths all walks of life leaving behind some discussions, I think each and every discussion is responded. I may state here that against one my discussion I have received a response after two months. Some time it happens.

Well the way we consider ourselves the best so is with the discussions. Even in some of my discussions I have not got many responses, then I think that may be my liking is similar to majority of people so I do not feel annoyed, infact it is okay to be different and have varied tastes. I just move on to next discussions.

I think everyone would like to think that their discussions are interesting. But we should remember that everyone would not be interested in the topic that we are interested in. There have been discussions on topics that I have liked very much and posted and hardly got responses. And on some topics where I did not expect responses I have got more than 50 responses. I think it is not only the topic but also how many more discussions have been started on that day. If not many discussions have been started then mylottians respond to whatever discussions have been posted. If there are many on that day then there is a choice for everyone.

I do not think all of my discussions are interesting to people, they are to me though! It never bothers me if I do not get many responses, as long as I get one or two that is enough for me, I do not set a discussion just to get the most responses, I set a discussion because the subject is something I want to say as long as one person responds I am happy enough with that.

hi chevee, my feeling is usually inaccurate; i can't account on it sometimes i start a discussion which i think will be a great one, even a masterpiece which will reap lots of response, but it ends in getting less than 5 responses. other times i just start a discussion for the sake of starting a discussions, and it gets nice responses. well, i don't think that my discussions are always interesting. sometimes, in certain cases, i think that the discussion i will start is a stupid discussion, but still i insist on starting it.

Hi Chevee, [i]When I was new I also have the same feeling! but, this time, I will not worry about that! I will just respond a lot and it is very rare that I will post a topic! Only when I have some questions, some of the post are common so maybe that is the reason why they are not responding or your friends are not active this time![/i]

I don't let it bother me. I tend to ask questions that I really want answers too so that is bothersome if I don't get an answer because I want to know something. I guess bothersome isn't the best word because I am not mad, just let down a bit and wishing I knew the answer. I also see that there are so many discussions here that it is easy to be overlooked unless you have a number of friends who are diligent at checking their friends posts.

Oh naturally I think all my discussions are interesting. lol But what's interesting to me isn't necessarily interesting to somebody else. Being interesting isn't the only reason people will visit your discussions though. If you visit other people's discussions, they are more likely to visit yours. If you comment back to the responses on your discussion, people will be more likely to visit your discussions.

I do think that my discussions are interesting and I try my best to make them interesting for others.But I still sometimes donot get many responses.And if I don't get many responses I move on to the next discussion.

Hi Cheevee! It's encouraging if you get lots of responses to your topics however getting no responses does not mean we should be discourraged. Rather it has good lessons to teach. It will give you ideas on what topics earn good numbers of respondents and what topics here are not interesting to many users. Every activity here is worth enjoying. So getting no response is not a reason to get negative feelings. In everything here, just give thanks, enjoy and have fun and earn many benefits for these positive attitude. Mylot is all about discussions. But if I post and nobody wants to discuss with me then that's fine... instead of sulking... I will go to the posts of others and participate actively.

of course i think we all do and are amazed when others ask what colors do you like get 40 responses. lol. anyway, mostly im at the point where it doesnt bother me. like i would have thought a lot of people would be interested in a World edition monopoly and only 1 person even cared.

Hi Chevee, When I do a discussion which isen't that often, I get a few responses and yes I do get disappointed sometimes because I always response to everyones discussions and maybe they don't find my discussions very interesting, but it is up to them. Tamara

I do have the experience. There are still 6 of my posts which have no response. I am quiet frustrate. It took me quite some time to initiate a discussion, and I expect it will be reponse soon. I believe perhaps it is due to the time difference between two counties. And there are culture barriers.
