Contractions were stopped

Well I just talked with my daughter (minnie) and she was out of it sounding. They gave her the shot to stop the contactions and that has worked. She is still fairly cramped and can barely stand up so they are keeping an eye on her. She has a saline solution IV dripping like crazy. All this is believed to have been caused by dehydration. Just like my dad she does not drink nearly enough water daily. So being the dad that I am, I of course scolded her saying, "Now you know why I tell grandpa to drink lots of water. So anyhow things are progressing good with Minnie. Thanks all for listening to me here about my lil' prioncess Minnie. Love ya all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My prayers are with Minnie and her "nervous" Dad..LOL. I had read your previous discussion about her going to the hospital. Do they know why the contractions happened in the first place?? Hope everything turns out okay and keep us updated

The contractions are braxton hicks and have been happening for months but they have gotten longer and more often and hurt so we will be waqtching them closely.

I am so happy that the contractions have stopped. The longer Savannah stays in her mommas belly the better, at least for a few more weeks. We have been having some scorching hot muggy days down this way, has it been hot up your way too. If it has been hot that would add to her getting dehydrated. Glad things are ok.

Since there has been no more dialation she should stay longer for sure. But i see the doc tomarrow to make sure as the contractions are back but no cramping.

Grandpa Bob, I am glad to know that she is ok. I didn't see your discussions before this one. I have been weekending. Please give her my best. And, stay on her about the water. Don't let her get away with not hydrating! LOL! You have always taken good care of your own Dad so, I know that you will do what needs to be done with Minnie! I am so sorry that I missed your other discussions. I think maybe I will need to set up the notifications when my friends start discussions.

Oh, the poor thing! How far along is she? When I was pregnant with my son, I went into preterm labor at 6 months - I had to be on medication and bedrest for three months, so I've been there. I hope everything gets better from here, good luck!

Hey Grandpa Bob. I'm glad the doctor was able to get the contractions to stop. Don't need little Savanna making an early entrance into this world, if it can be helped. I hope minnie is willing to listen to you now. I know how stubborn she can be.

I am glad that they got the contractions to stop. I hope now that she drinks prently of water and liquids to keep from being dehydrated. A lot of people don't realize how important water is. And when you are pregnant it is essential to get enough water every day. She needs to remember that she is making a baby and carrying nutrition and waste for two. The blood volume is increased and that alone needs more water than normal. I hope all goes well for her from here on out and that she has no more problems. Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

Good to hear that the shot work. Yes, dehydration is a big problem during pregnancy. I can't believe how much water I drank each time. I told my husband I feel like a camel filling up on water, lol. Hope she'll be fine soon and everything will just be easy peasy until they baby is due;)

I had kidney stones a long time back that caused me to not be able to eat nor walk for a few days. After I passed them and a biop[sy was done I found out it was from a lack of water in my system. Since that day I always drink plenty water each day and constant;ly tell my dad and now my daughter to drink water. Hee hee. Thanks also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is great news. We'll have to all invest about getting her water delivered if she isn't going to drink it on her own! : ) I'm glad the contractions stopped. A month early is still kind of scary. I guess there is a good reason God wants us to stay in the womb a full nine months.

I was glad to hear of the good outcome of this a few minutes ago! I'm soooo behind! My mom is bad about that, too. She loves Coke and drinks Coke Zero so I just buy her all she wants, even though pop is bad for you, because at least she's hydrated. I made a deal with her to replace 2 cans a day with water so at least we compromised! Maybe Minnie would like juice better, they have several good tasting low calorie juices now. Or how about the flavored bottled water? That's pretty tasty if she doesn't care for water.

oh, how AWFUL ! what was minnie's response to your scolding ? my mother, who is 80, just got out of the hospital after 4 weeks. she was admitted with severe dehydration, too. she told her doctor that she DOES drink water when she's thirsty and he said, by that time it's too late. you need to drink water BEFORE you are thirsty. now, i had never thought of that. to actually schedule yourself to drink water even when you aren't thirsty. i've had spells in the summer time. i'm sure i'm suffering from a much milder form of dehydration. i get very sleepy and somewhat light-headed and foggy. maybe your DAD will drink more water if you put a chart on the frig. for every glass of water he drinks, he gets a dollar. oh, maybe at the END of 8 glasses or 10 glasses. glad to hear that minnie is coming along well though, GPBob
