Yes true enough, my daughter had her Christmas Present from her Grandma just this Saturday just gone. So why on earth did it take this long to get it you might ask, well what happened was this. At christmas 2008, Grandma gave all the kids a £100 gbp ($186.33)each to spend in a toystore called toys r us. Well, my daughter at the time had just turned two and to be honest she had enough toys and did not need anymore. So I kept hold of it until I could decide what to spend it on for her, well now she is nearly three, I decided that it would be nice for her to have a tv/dvd combi in her room and so that is what we went and bought her on saturday! We actually dropped on a bargain too because the one we were looking at was £129.99, 242.21 US dollars but when we got there it was reduced to just £99.99, 186.31 US dollars so we did not have to put anything towards it! But it is not just no ordinary tv, oh no, she saw the one she wanted as soon as she went in, a dora the explorer tv/dvd! Whats the latest after an event that you have received a present? Have you seen the televisions for kids in the form of their favourite characters? Do your kids have one? Do you allow your kids a tv in their room?

Well, you could call it a combination late Christmas or early Birthday and Christmas present for this yr. But that does sound like a Great deal, and one with Dora on it. I am sure your daughter will enjoy it for sure. That does sound like a Great gift, and one you do not have to worry about getting broke. Well, not sure if I had kids if they would have had a TV at 3 in their room, but at the same time, there are times that one could come in handy too I am sure.

Wow what a nice present, a dora explorer tv, haven't seen those! My son has our old 36" tv (which we found in the trash room with a note on it saying that the on/off button was broken but otherwise should still work fine. It cost us $120 to fix and it works perfectly - couldn't pass up a free 36" tv LOL). He uses it to play his PS games and watch dvds when he has friends over. We have cable hooked up in our room (previous tenants) too so if the boys are hogging the tv then I move the big one in our room and watch my shows in there.

My teenage daughter has one in her bedroom but I don't allow my son one yet as he would be wanting to watch it when in bed instead of going to sleep. I have seen pink TVs and the like but not the character ones you mention. The latest I have ever bought a present was about five months after which was a combination of Christmas and birthday money of my sons and he got a Wii which we all have fun with. Ellie :D

It actually sends her to sleep, its great. She watches in the night garden, and she absolutely loves that programme.

Only just spotted the pic of the TV it looks pretty nifty, I wish a TV would send mine to sleep, no chance. Macca Paka, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and the Tomblboos and the Ninky Nonk drive me crazy but the kids seem to like it eh! LOL. Ellie :D

Wow, that's what I call a "different TV"! Never seen anything like this! Well, as I don't have kids, I'll explore my vision as a son: I was never allowed to have/watch TV at my room. Since I was a child, mom said me that the bedroom was a place for rest and sleeping, and so I respected her. But I know that, when I have my own room (I share it with my brother), I'll have a TV on it.=) About the "receiving a gift", the last time was in my birthday, 3 weeks ago. ^^

Wowl what a TV I must admit that I have not yet seen anything so cool for a child…a perfect gift planned by a perfectly practical mother. I do the same with money…sometimes you don’t really need anything and at other times you are so short of cash. I keep it away and always use it later on other occasions. My child does not have his exclusive TV…we have two in our house. The one small is in our bedroom and the other is in the drawing room for general viewing.

They are cool I agree, they also had a Lightening McQueen one which my nephew has! She probably does not need a tv in her room but there are some nights where she is not tired enough for sleep and so she can watch her favourite programme and just lay and rest, then she drops off to sleep.

yea i was going to get one of those for my daughters too,..i still might get it for them this christmas. my oldest wants the hannah montana one. and my youngest wants a princess one.

I have seen the princess one because that was what we were going to get her originally, then she spotted the dora one which was actually cheaper so there was no way she would have had the princess one then!

My daughter has a gift card from this jewelry place that she got over a year ago that still hasn't been used. It is for 10 dollars. I wonder if she still has money on it because usually stores will start deducting money from the card if it is unused by a certain time.

I am glad that your daughter is happy! I do the same thing for my son when he gets gift cards...I wait until he needs something! As for a TV I never had one not even as a teenager and so I do not agree with them being in the bedroom...My parents did not have one in their bedroom either and so I have told my Hubby we would never have one and neither would our son! ~Heavens~

A lot of people do not like their kids to have a tv in their room, but I always wanted mine to. I was never allowed and so could never watch I wanted, also with having four kids that want to watch different things it just makes sense for them to have their own!

I think that is such a great thing to do and I am sure that she appreciated that tv more now than she would have at Christmas as they get so much then and it takes away the excitement over each thing! Great bargain and great idea! My kids do have favourite characters - DR Who mainly! lol I have tried tvs in the kids room but they would never sleep if I let them have one there now! they have a lot of films in the pc and a nice flat screen that they can watch it on (ok its a monitor really) when they are allowed to! xxx

She loves it! She watches In the night garden and Garfield on it but I am hoping to be able to treat her to a peppa pig dvd next week! My boys love Dr Who and they watch it on their freeview box.

I felt your discussion was very sweet and you sure take care of your children in a very good way. I have no kids yet but I have nephews and niece for which I buy presents (toys) for them and they love playing with them alot.

My son has a tv in his room. He watches cartoons and plays his console games on it too. He's never had issues of falling asleep or staying up too late so thankfully the tv isn't a problem. I'd remove it if it was keeping him awake or he was watching it excessively. He watches a tiny bit after school to unwind and it's turned off to do school work and later on before bed if wants to watch some he's allowed.

It is nice for them to have a tv in their rooms, I mean they have control of the downstairs one during the day when they can have their cartoons on. Nightime though if they sit downstairs they have to watch what we watch and they would rather not,so they go watch a dvd or play their console.

That was a pretty smart thing you did there. I've never seen tv's like that but it doesn't surprise me. I've never been big on kids having tv's in their rooms but to each their own. For some parents it may be the best thing. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Your daughter's tv is so cute. I've never seen one like that. I dont get gifts from people. Even for birthdays. Even from my parents, for birthdays, they just buy some food and we eat it together. So I always force people to give me one so I could be happy, well it happens only in Christmas, my birthday is 5 days before Christmas, so the ones I receive are for Christmas and my birthday. Yes, I really do force them, no kidding. I ask them to join in a small exchange gifts. I tell them to make a group of people who wants to do exchange gifts, it must be good for both male and female. And they love it, so I always get a gift, well only one though, but its okay. At least I have one.
