Well for the past 3 months here in Minnesota we were behind normal rainfall by over 5 inches. It has been very warm and dry. Today we got a good and much needed soaking of rainfall finally. Now I do not have to water my garden for a couple days at least. I can not refcall the last time we had such a stretch of very little or no rainfall here. But it was welcomed very much for my plants and lawn. The tree leaves are turning colors and falling way too early as well. My apples are about a month ahead of schedule for ripening as well. It is unreal. So did you get some rain today at all? Have you ever been in a drought situation before? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi GRANDPA BOB, We have had so much rain here and everyone been very depressed about it but I aways say its good for the garden and good for the ducks. Few years back we had drought and we were not even allow to water our garden with a hose, it was just lack of water everywhere, but now its ok but people still complain, well you can't pleased everyone. We have had a little rain this week. Not yesterday or today, but perhaps tomorrow. Our trees are not turning yet, but I have heard from lots of people around the States that theirs are. Good for you for the rain.

Ohhh....same here, we have some rain last July but not this Month! So, it's everyday, I am watering the garden! I was even thinking we will have some rain this week since it was not too bright but sad to say, we have none! It's been dry also and makes me water the plants twice a day!

We have had a decent amount of rain here this summer. Not too much and not too little. The tomato plants that I have planted are really showing that. They are about 5-6 feet tall. I need to go out and grab more tomatoes today. Probably a dozen need picking.

I live on the east coast. All it has been doing was raining. It was to the point that I forgot what sunshine was. Everytime I made plans to go to beach it rained. Its finally stopped and now its cool. We've been experiencing really cool temps for this time of the year. TOday is sunny but cool. I still havent been to the beach. Next week is my birthday and I have planned a beach day. Plus my daughter will be in school. It better not rain on the 5th of September thats for sure. dl

It is a good feeling to get much needed rain I know. We have gotten some lately also that we needed so badly. Yes, we have had our share of droughts here also, we have had times where we could not even water yards or gardens, talk about a dry brown city, that was our worse. Then it seems like when in a dought and it does rain it all comes pouring down at once and not really getting to soak in and do a good job on things. We got a few inches of rain the other day and it was so nice. It also cools things off so much.

No rain yet, though the skies are cloudy and the sun is hiding. The radar shows rain coming from the south but it will probably miss us. Too bad, my grass is browning like everyone else's. But hooray for your rain! I lived in Arizona for 28 years and talk about drought--it was awful. They don't get much rain anyway but the past few years were terrible. No drought can be as bad as that and I'm glad I don't live there anymore!

It rains almost every afternoon here this time of the year. We have had years when the rain was strangely absent and it was dry, dry, dry!

Well it is noqw 11:30 p.m. here in Minnesota. Severe thunderstorm warnings out for my area. Heavy downpours happening right now. Pea sized hail. Lots of lightening strikes. No satellite TV due to the signal being blocked from the storm as well. I asked for rain now I get this. HAHAHAHA! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yes, we are expecting some rain here this afternoon as well. It is very cloudy right now. Completely covered by over-cast. It could dump on us any minute really. I am glad tot hear that you will not have to water the lawn and garden for a few days! That will save you some cash on the water bill! We are in Ohio, it has been unseasonably cold for the past few days as well. I am chilled right now. But stubborn too, I am refussing to put the heaters on!! I am too cheap ! LOL

I hope this is not a sign that that we have an early winter or a bad winter. We have had a mild summer, no rain but we never get rain in the summer. We have stayed below the 100 mark most of the summer. Then when it has been above 100 it has been way above 100 like up to 111 or last week 107. Then we will get some days it is around 88. My green beans are through and the bell peppers are starting to turn red like they need to. My egg plants are growing also. It will be a while before I can pick them. I canned 18 qt.jars of cream or tomato soup from fresh tomatoes last week. And 9 jars of plumbs yesterday. I still have two buckets of plumbs left to do in the next couple of days.

For the last week it has looked like it was brewing a good rain storm but nothing has happened. We are in need of some rain here in southern Indiana. I haven't had to cut the grass in about three to four weeks now.

It's been really hot and muggy here all day, and we can see the sky flashing with lightning. We were looking forward to a really good thunderstorm to clear the air but it looks as if it's heading in the wrong direction and will pass us by. We quite regularly suffer drought type conditions here. It's not been too bad this year as it rained a fair amount early in the season. However, I've got friends who have had to have water shipped in all summer as their spring ran dry really early.

We have the opposite in the UK, it has rained and rained most of the summer. Lots of rotten fruit and veg, so many pest/disease problems in the garden because of the damp. Often my patio has been flooded this year it a nightmare. perhaps we got your weather this year, although I think it rained much more last year. I think also Autumn is happening earlier this year. I statred a lot of my crops early this year due to the bad weather last year. Most should still have another month of growing but seem to be coming to an early end instead. I can't say I'm impressed, I think a lot of the weather is caused by the many weather experiments over the years and we are now facing the backlash of it all. But today so far so good, no rain as yet, just these horrible all covering grey skies that seem to have become quite normal of recent! Think this may be my 100th post, yippee something to celebrate at least.

Oh it was 101th post, bit of a delay on my celbration! :)
