Back in the 70's a movie was advertised with Elizabeth Taylor. I believe the name was The Blue Butterfly or something like that. Had blue in it anyway. We got all this hype and advertising on it. I was so curious and was so excited when it finally came to a little theater here. I took my daughter and went, bought our tickets, alot of people there for it. Just before they let us in they made an announcement that the movie was cancelled and gave us our money back. We never heard a word as to why, and I have never found any info on it online or elsewhere. Weird huh? Does anyone remember this movie and/or know anything about what happened?

There is only 1 title that comes close. It came out in 1960. It was called Butterfield 8.Elizabeth Taylor won a Best Actress Oscar as Gloria Wandrous, a stylish girl who yearns to go straight, especially after she thinks she's found Mr. Right. But self-loathing socialite Weston Liggett (Laurence Harvey) proves he's not up to the task. This adaptation of John O'Hara's best-seller features Taylor's real-life spouse, Eddie Fisher, in the role of her best friend.

I've never heard of it, but I did do a search on the Movies Unlimited website and found one by the same name, but it was dated 2004 and starred William Hurt. That is strange though.
