Has Obama Gone Too Far? - Hail Nerobama

We know from History that Nero was mad so perhaps Obama will also play a violin!! I cannot believe this is true Obama is going to make us the laughing stock of the world. Where is the dignity in this type of rock spectacular. He has hired he same people that do Britany Spears' sets. This is proof of just how far Obama will go to satisfy his narcissistic ego? Your opinion on this travesty of our politics
McCain Camp Mocks ‘Temple of Obama’
Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign has released a memo mocking Democrat rival Barack Obama’s decision to decorate the stage he will give his acceptance speech tonight on as the “Temple of Obama.”
The memo, titled "Proper Attire for the Temple of Obama (The Barackopolis)," pokes fun at the neoclassical-style stage Britney Spears’ set supervisor Bobby Allen designed for the elaborate event at 75,000-seat Invesco Field, home of the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
"It's only appropriate that Barack Obama would descend down from the heavens and spend a little time with us mere mortals when accepting the Democratic nomination," Republican National Committee spokesman Danny Diaz tells the New York Post.
The McCain camp already is planning a series of ads that will bring the point home that Obama is a narcissistic celebrity candidate. It has even gone so far as to suggested the junior senator from Illinois’ delegates should wear togas to fit in with the curved, columned backdrop and other Greek-styled set pieces designed to evoke images of Apollo, Zeus and Athena.
"We've done Britney's sets and a whole bunch of rock shows,” Allen said, “but this was far more elaborate and complicated and we had to do it in far less time."
Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down on him and fireworks will be fired off from locations around the stadium wall, according to an Associated Press report.
"We would have expected to read something like this in The Onion,” a McCain adviser mockingly told The Post. “Fortunately for us, it's true. Unfortunately for Obama, it's true."

Personally, I do not know if that is true or not. If it is true, wow. If not, then it is a rumor.
Here is something that is true, that makes some voters turn against Obama.
When it came time to vote to help aborted babies (the ones who survived abortions), Obama voted against this --would not help them. Even Barbara Boxer voted to help those babies. How can I vote for someone who would not help
a helpless infant --who had survived an abortion?
I believe that if the infant survives that procedure, then they certainly need to have some help, even if just holding or helping them to survive those moments they have left. But to turn your face away from such an innocent little person--well, this is not the kind of President that I would want.
Yes, a President needs to be strong. And he or she needs to be strong enough to stand up and shout, "YES!! I will help that child", and strong enough to sign that bill. (This is from the past but it has surfaced now).

Welcome to myLot! I am thrilled that my discussion is the first posting you have made. Barack Obama was the only member of the Illinois Senate to speak against a bill that would have granted legal protection to already-born babies still alive after a failed abortion. He used his power to prevent those innocent babies from having the best chance to survive. The evidence speaks for itself. It doesn't get much colder than that.

*cough*
And who was it, exactly, who chose the decoration and set up this whole event?
Not one person, surely.
I'm sure, if they had the chance to say, they'd say this:
"Hey, we like to party big. Can you blame us with such a heavy atmosphere?"
...also, I shall not reiterate what someone else has already said about American usage of greek and greek-inspired architecture.

I agree that Greek architecture is beautiful and very opulent. However I do not think opulence is the change that this country needs.

I really do not know what to say. This is so unbelievable to me. It is also unbelievable that people will vote for him.

Oh comeone Whiteheather, lighten up! Greek architecture symbolizes democracy. How many buildings in Washington, DC use doric and ionic columns to evoke the Greek origins of democracy? As for the confetti and fireworks, just about every convention I've ever seen news footage from has used those when the nominee spoke. I'm quite sure you will see those elements at the Republican convention also. Frankly, if McCain doesn't have confetti and fireworks, he'll be the one breaking with tradition.

Oh, I admit I'm still hurting over the Hillary losss. I just read where McCain picked a woman running mate. Wanna bet he picks up a lot of votes on that one. I think it's a brilliant move. (But, I betcha they will still have confetti and fireworks at the convention.LOL)

Now what was the film in which Nero played "Oh omnipotent - " Oh Quo Vadis. I wonder what piece Obama is going to play? I mean they are both similar, both Nero and Obama are so conceited that it is not funny. At least Nero had an excuse, he was crazy, all that inbreeding, but Obama?

Perhaps Obama's ego is showing a lack of breeding!

Sounds like that to me. He is taking the Democrat ideal to as far left as he can. I mean it sounds more like Communism to me, and how many of the younger people remember when we lived through? Thanks for the best response.

I don't know if this is Obama's choice. It may be a democrat party ruling to go over the top to get a certain vote. Some people vote for the wrong reasons and the democrats want to appeal to them. I don't really care that they did and would expect them to hire someone to promote the candidates who knows how to get results.

Almost makes you think this Obama has something against the USA, doesn't it? What else could make us look so foolish? It wasn't enough to criticize his own country on a European tour or to go to a church with quesionable "love your neighbor" ethics, he has to pretend he's a celebrity? I think he has an ego problem. Do you think it would stop if he were elected president?

Perhaps this is what he meant when he mentioned change? Pretty silly. I spent years designing sets for sales rallies, and one thing I learned was that you never want to appear to be spending too much money or getting too "out there" for the people you're serving. Guess Obama never got that memo. (Oh I forgot. He doesn't have much experience...)
