What do you think about these Hurricanes?

I know Gustav killed 22 people in Haiti and is going through Jamaica now (I think it's Jamaica) and from there it is anyone's guess. What is your opinion on the cone of uncertainty being 300 miles long? From what I hear from another friend, this hurricane is taking the same path as Katrina did, but it is smaller and more compact. I am also concerned that if it hits Houma or Baton Rouge, we will be on the east side which means we will get what Mississippi did for Katrina. There is another storm in the Atlantic headed towards Fla maybe and then there is another depression around Mexico! What the heck is up with the weather? Anyone here good at predicting the weather? lol Scared that I may be stuck here! Don't know what to do, no one knows where it is going and well, this is a scary thing!

Thanks Dn, I appreciate it. Don't know if we are going anywhere. Things are very up in the air. lol Hubby and I are arguing about leaving or staying, etc. He doesn't want to leave with daughter and her fiance's family. He feels better with my family, but not with them (his family). He don't know them. I hardly know them. So sis is taking her truck and I have to somehow convince her to let us go with her. Law against people in the back of a truck though, so don't know how that is going to work! I am scared now.

We are leaving on Sunday with my sister to Texas. Do you know where Hutto is? Or Round Rock? That's where I'll be Hutto, Texas if we have to leave. We talked this morning. My brother said if he had to come get us, he would without a doubt, so I feel better now. Thanks DN

Hey icy! Have you been watching the news and not just checking the NHC website? I didn't watch the 10 o'clock, but earlier when I was in the gym (when they were boarding up the windows) I caught the weather guy on ABC/26 and he gave 3 baths. 1) coming in around Morgan City (i.e. south of BR), 2) Coming in right on top of NO, and 3) It getting half way through the Gulf then turning and hitting Florida (that's IF a high front decided to dip into the gulf and won't be until mid-day Sunday) My gut is that we probably aren't going to get hit, but the area is going to take some damage. We are holding out on leaving until early AM Sunday. We have a hotel room in Arkansas that my parents found (we don't all leave at the same time, but stay in the same hotel). If it is anything higher than a Category 2, we are leaving. I am not sitting with a house full of animals - and a grumpy hubby - with no power and possibly running water for who knows how long. My son is going with his Dad to Iowa this weekend. Which is really good because he is already freaking out. He lived with his Dad pre-Katrina and they lost everything. Do you guys have a game plan? If not, I hope you have lots and lots of supplies. Definitely call around and get a hotel room (I hope there are some left )

Hey Sedel, Glad to know you have a plan to get out. We are leaving Sunday morning if we have to run. Going to my brothers in Texas. He was worried about us too and is now relieved we are going there. I have our paperwork together, just have to pack clothes and medicine. I can do that tomorrow once we know for sure. ~Icy~
