I like that verse. I don't remember it from Deuteronomy, but I guess I need to read it more huh. I think I will use it in a book I am writing. Thanks for sharing it.

...no problem. I used to have a cassette of a Dr. Gene Scott sermon from the '80s based on that verse. Scott titled the sermon "Tough Shoes for a Tough Trip" ;-) ...

Hi shontia! My favorite bible verse comes from the book of proverbs. The book of proverbs is one of the books I like the most in the bible. It's proverbs 16:3, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed". I'm always reminded of this verse so that everything I do will give Him glory and that I am in His hands. This gives me relief every time I remember this because I know that His promises are true and He will never fail. Good day and God bless!

my favorite Bile verse is Hebrews 13: 5 which says "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." It just makes me feel that no matter what happens or whatever God will always be there for me and walking along side me.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteiousness is of me saith the Lord.

There are many Bible verses that are special to me, some for the poetry in the words and some for the beauty of the message that is being conveyed. I like Psalm 103 because it shows how good God is to us and reminds us that it's important that we remember that fact. I like Isaiah 53 because I believe it conveys what Christ suffered on our behalf. Philippians 4:4,5 is a favorite because I like knowing "The Lord is near," and probably the most beautiful benediction in scripture is Jude 24,25.

The 23rd psalms literally saved my life. I was a single parent with no money and one day while dropping the kids off at Sunday school I thought.....if I just got into a car accident they would be so much better off with the insurance money...anyway I started crying.....and looked a the church and started saying that verse....and when I got done I felt so much better....My favorite is This is the day the Lord has made....let us rejoice and be glad in it.....I say it almost every morning on my way to work!

I would say that one of my favourite verses is 1 Tim. 5:8 "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, amd especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." I work in the Life Insurance and Financial Services field and I am always intrigued by Christians who believe that they don't need to do any planning. I don't know how many families need to suffer needlessly after they have lost a loved one. If you look at the context that you find the verse; Paul is taking about taking care of the Widows and the orphans. Obviously one of the best ways to take care of your future widow(er) and your children is to be sure you have a life insurance policy. As well, we need to be mindful of how we spend our money and where we invest it. Did you know the Bible talks about money more than any other subject. Well over 2000 references. It makes you wonder if God knew that we would need some help with it.

All the verses submitted are great as are all the books in the Bible. There is some word in God's Book for everyone. I have many favorites but this is one that comes to mind from Ecclesiastes 3:1 that says "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." When we choose to walk in Jesus' footsteps we are faced with many challenges from those who are against our choices. But we can rest assured that every thing is for a season and joy always comes to those who persevere in the Lord. Have a glorious and most blessed day! With much agape love, Marva. ~*~

My favorite verse is Philippeans 4:13. "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." It gives me hope and reminds me that my strength doesn't come from me, but from God.
