Anyone here live in or near Montgomery, AL?

Hey there. Currently I live in the UK but next year I'll be moving to Mongomery, Alabama and I'd like to know what it is like. For example what there is there, what the public transport and roads are like, what the shopping is like(!) etc. Anything at all you can tell me and I'd be most grateful.
