Do you travel light?

One of the things I love doing is traveling. If I have time and extra money, I go places. It doesn't matter how long or how short the trip is. It doesn't matter if I stay there for a long while or a short while. I love going places and I love meeting new people. I love learning more about different cultures. In most of my travels, I always have traveled light. That is because I wanted to have more space in my luggage for the stuffs I will be buying for myself and for the people back home. How about you? Do you travel light?

I'm terrible! I feel like I take everything I own! The few times I have packed light, I regretted it. I always end up wishing I had brought this shirt, or that pair of pants.... I just like having many options.

I always travel heavy! I can't go without "extras" like my make-up kit, blow dryer, extra clothes, around 3 pairs of shoes (that's for 3-5 days) and sleeping clothes! The funny thing is sometimes, I have to bring my slippers too! It is inconvenient but I feel comfortable with it when I know I haven't forgotten anything. If I travel back home, I basically don't bring a lot because I have it at home. I LOVE to travel.

That was one of the first questions my s/o asked me, if I could travel without all the 'extras'..... half of our trips have been made on the Harley. He was happy to find that I could travel light. Give me the basics in makeup, foundation, mascara, powder, hairbrush and ponytail, I'm good to go.

I travel a lot too on business trips. Takes me to countries in different parts of the world. Some of the flights are very long. So, I do travel light when on those long journeys. Most of my luggage were business papers and my laptop. Enjoy your trips !

I would love to travel light. But with a baby in tow, it's just so difficult. For short trips, we try to put everything into 1 haversack and 1 hand luggage. I think that is already more than we can handle. When we travel by coaches, it is more pertinent to travel light, because we need to get up and down the coach a lot. As for buying stuffs and souvenirs, I try to buy small pieces which does not take up too much space.

I do too. I think it is always a pain to have to drag a lot of stuff around you. All I usually take are a backpack, and one smaller bag that I stow on the plane. Especially if I am going abroad. When I do that I'll be moving around a lot, and who wants to drag 100 pounds of things with you?

Many times, yes I do travel light. I will purchase what I need if I want something later when I get to where I'm going. I do take some of my favorite things to wear, but apart from that I take as little as I can.

It depends. If I travel with my family then naturally I do not travel light. But on the other hand if I travel alone then I travel light. Yes, as you have pointed out it is a good idea to keep spaces in the boxes we carry for ourselves!

I normally travel light, of course a week or two before traveling I make a packing list, and figure out what clothes I will need to take, I also will take a couple of tops to go with a pair of jeans. It also depends on where I am going. I am going to a scrapbook retreat, and you will think I'm moving out when I pack for that lol. I take my printer, laptop, scrapbooking supplies, plus my clothes. The only thing I hate trying to pack for is when you travel and not sure what clothes you might need depending on weather. I went to Texas in the fall, and sometimes it's 90 degrees, other times it can be in the 60's, and I had to throw in a jacket, for the trip back home, since I live in the northeast. I like it when we travel on the Harley, no choice but to pack light, and I have an extra tote bag that fits in, for the extras I buy while I'm gone.

I usually way over-pack. I pack a pair of shoes in every color, and don't forget about sandals! I also usually take my own pillow and my favorite blanket. The one time I packed just enough for two weeks I ended up staying for 4 months! That was a little rough. If we drive I still pack everything I think I might need. Even if I never use it. With all the new restrictions on plane travel, I am forced to try and pack lighter. I don't want to have to pay all the extra fees for heavy or additional bags.

I'm really like you! Whenever I visit a different country, my first priority is to eat lots of good food. Then go shopping. SO I try as much as possible to pack light so that I can have room for all the new things I would buy. I'd hate to have to pay for the excess weight the airline charges. Not only is it exorbitant, it's also avoidable if I plan well.

I too love travelling, especially in trains. I travel light as it as I hate carrying a heavy bag around places. Travelling light also gives us an option to go wherever we want without giving much thought as to how to travel.

Yes. Me and my family always leave one suitcase light just incase we doe extra shopping in the place we are going. Sometimes, when we packextra heavy, it is cause we are taking gifts for the family abroad and then the suitcase empties out there... So everytime there is always some suitcase more or less emtpy.

I don't travel as lightly as I wish I did. I take clothes, toiletries, my snorkeling equipment if I am going to a tropical beach, my camera and some snacks. My toddler son requires baby soya drink powder, his bottles, a travel kettle, catheters, his clothes and his light weight travel cot. For our last trip I was allowed 15kg luggage for both of us. Packing that lightly was a challenge. I love to travel to as many different countries as possible to meet the local people, find out about the culture and watch the native wildlife. Typically I fly somewhere then travel about on local trains, buses and ferries. We stay in about five or more different places. For that reason I like to travel reasonably lightly. I leave room for souvenirs like a costume doll for my collection.

Hello dolce_vita. I love to travel light as it makes the travel more enjoyable. While I travel, the most important thing for me is my digital camera because I love to take photos so that I can always remember where I have been and how it looks like. I do not bring much other stuff with me except the daily necessities.

No, I am not a light traveller, when I go away everything I own near enough ends up in the suitcase! I am really not clever when it comes to packing a suitcase, although part of this boils down to the weather. We always holiday in UK and the weather is really unpredictable so I have to take a wide variety of clothes to cover for all occasions.

Oh dolce! I wish I did! I'm the type to take everthing but the kitchen sink! I never was any good at traveling light! I always take too much because I can never decide what to take with me. Even when I go to visit my Mom in Florida where I don't need to take much and I always come home with alot more I take way too much. I usually end up with an extra bag to take home! I'll never learn. I think I do it because I don't know what I want to take and I'm never sure what the weather will be like. I don't travel very much which is another thing. Maybe if I was like you I'd be better able to pack lightly. Another thing is that I'm used to changing clothes twice a day and I don't wear the same clothes more than once. I'm sounding extremely obsessive compulsive as I'm writting this, aren't I???

It is a pain to drag a heavy luggage around. But unfortunately, I am not a light packer, I'm more of a "medium-packer" if there is such a thing. I don't bring as much as some people I know, but I can't travel as little as some light packers I know either, so I guess I'm medium? lol. Perfect example, I went to Boracay with a trolley (i know, i know, crazy), it wasn't full but a backpack or a duffel bag just seemed so small..
