Of all the sleazy filth from the Democrat Underground...

The hate mongers at the Democrat Underground have reached a new low. They floated rumors that Sarah Palin's 5 month old baby is actually her grandchild, actually born to Palin's teenage daughter Bristol Palin. But, as usual, the DU and reality clash. Sarah Palin announced that her daughter Bristol is 5 months pregnant now. They weren't going to make any formal announcement about it, but with the rumors going around, they decided it would be best to make it public... quelling any rumors. I don't think all (or even most) Democrats are as sleazy as the scum at the DU, in fact I'm glad the scum has a place like the DU to let us all know the difference. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080901/pl_nm/usa_politics_palin_dc_3

I'm not even sure how to respond to this or if it is even worthy of a response. the human race astounds me, not only in it's capacity for good, but in it's equal capacity for this kind of diseased mentality. thanks for posting this one ted, i think it's important for people to be aware of how some are thinking. I sincerely hope the Obama campaign handles this properly.

They never cease to amaze me. I first saw these sleazy rumors after ClarusVisum had the audacity to use DailyKOS as a source for one of his claims. I told him I don't read garbage liberal blogs and he defended them so I took a second look only to see they had a 15 page story perpetuating that lie. It's just disgusting. While most democrats may be respectful enough so as not to perpetuate this garbage, it's the most vocal ones are the ones that actually believe and spread it.

Was their a point to your comment? I said the conspiracy about Trig being Bristol's son was a lie, I was right. I never dealt with the issue of her daughter being pregnant because the story itself was a complete and utter lie. It's like someone claiming that 3 months ago you robbed a 7-11 and then saying "No she didn't rob the 7-11, but she was at one 7 months ago so you were wrong about her not being at 7-11"

YOu think everything you do not like, is a lie, yet you accuse the Dems of lying all the time. Guess what... this is true.

Excuse me, I meant the annoucement that her daugher is pregnant is true. Not the issue about her youngest child being her grandaughter. At least I am willing to make an adjustment when I make an error.

I love when these scumbags show their true colors. I went back to the DailyKOS page that had the whole ridiculous store they perpetuated. Guess what? It's gone. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/30/121350/137 God forbid they take five seconds to write a retraction or say "Hey, we're a bunch of morons who spread lies without any factual data." Nope, they just pretended the story was never there and now have a hundred threads about how horrible a mother Sarah Palin is. Not that I expected any less than that.

People who create dirt to have dirt to throw are dirt themselves, and I'm saying this as someone who will NOT be voting for McCain/Palin and who is angry at any Democrat who will simply because she's a woman. But, that doesn't mean that creating lies about someone in order to degrade them in others eyes is something anyone should do. It wasn't right against Obama and it isn't right against Palin. Lies and rumors are STILL lies and rumors and most of all gossip - something most people have been taught is wrong because it ends up developing a life of its own and what comes out at the end isn't even close to what went in at the beginning. Wrong is wrong, no matter what party is to blame!!

It's unfortunate that the liberal bloggers decided to take a cue from the conservative bloggers. When all those dirty rumors were circulating about Obama, I saw some of the people here commenting on this issue strongly defending those rumors. Yet, there was once a warrior who said, when his soldiers wanted to kill an adversary who was unarmed because their enemies did the same thing, 'they are not our teachers.' I wish the liberal bloggers had stuck to Obama's theme of keeping the campaign devoid of personal attacks. This one is a real low blow because it even has nothing to do with Sarah Palin herself.

True, there are scummy people at all points of the political spectrum. While there have been rumors spread about Obama though, I can't remember reading or hearing anything this low from the right. Of course, that just might mean that I need to get out more. ;~D

"While there have been rumors spread about Obama though, I can't remember reading or hearing anything this low from the right." Sometimes it's hard to say who's lower. The extreme on the right haven't made claims quite like this, but their claims have largely been the most ridiculous. They're almost so ridiculous that it doesn't even warrant a response.

I know you and I don't get along and pretty much never agree, but I appreciate that you too took the high road on this issue. There are several liberals who I expected to take the high road but instead pounced on this as an opportunity to say Sarah Palin was at fault for her daughter's pregnancy because she promotes abstinence only education (which I'm against, but that's a different issue). I think the bloggers on both ends are reprehensible. While the lies about Obama have certainly been more outlandish and ridiculous than the lies about McCain, there have certainly been no shortage of liberal blogs making up lies about him. The lies about Palin and her daughter were just disgusting and the people spreading them are now patting themselves on the back.

Even if it is her Grandson. So what! Sarah is the one running for Vice President, not her daughter.

I don't think you realize the full sleaze of this rumor. They are saying that Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy then claimed the baby as her own to cover up the fact that her daughter was a pregnant teenager.

I am not trying to say that it is not a sleazy rumor. I can see what you mean about them trying to make it sound like she is covering up for her daughter. But she is not . We all know that! What I am trying to say is, that if she did adopt her grandchild. Is it really everyones business? DU really needs to do better things with their time.

In total honesty this is the first I've heard of this disgusting rumor but I certainly agree, this is sleazy and those who started it are scum and I'm grateful that you recognize all Democrats aren't like that and definitely do NOT approve of this kind of dirt. I really hope people from both parties handle this issue with some semblance of class and treat the Palin family with respect regarding this private matter! I read her statement but didn't hear it - I don't know if it even was on audio or video tape - but I thought it had a lot of class and she really said all that needs to be said. If I were here I'd leave it at that, perhaps making brief announcements following her daughter's marriage and the birth of the baby if she chooses to do so. I thought Obama's statement was also appropriate and I hope others in our party take a cue from him. Annie

The sad thing is that if it weren't for the lies perpetuated, there would have been no need for Palin's announcement. Bristol could have kept her life private and had her child without all the public scrutiny, or at least much less of it.

I think it is a shame that they would bring her family into this to begin with. I have never understood politicians doing that. If it were any other family nothing would be said. There are so many young girls making this same mistake with their lives these days, and it crosses all line, poor, rich, royalty, politicians, it is everywhere, this nation has a problem, and it is called teenage pregnancy. I feel like this, at least they didn't rush out and make her have an abortion, had it been a Democrat, that's what would have happened, then it would have been swept under the rug, and made a big secret. We need to focus on what she can do for this country, as a VP rather than her 17 yr. old daughter. Just my humble opinion. Blessings Marilyn
