what color to paint front door - debate over red or green.

If it was me, I'd go for a deeper cranberry red as opposed to a bright red for a door. While the green would be nice too, the cranberry would blend in better. I have an older home and right now I have a deep green door, I don't care for the deep green and am planning on painting it a cranberry red to give the entry some zip. One of the prettiest doors I've seen was that kind of a color, I don't know, it just looked so homey. The green one I've got now just looks too conventional and I long for a little color but not too bright. I'd get some paint chips and see what went with the siding color first before committing to any color at all. If I was buying a house, it probably wouldn't matter because I'd probably change it to suit myself later on.

I would go for a brown door or something like that. I wouldn't go for a red or green door. Usually those are not the colors used in my country for doors. So I' not kind of used to both those colors. Over here doors are usually gray, white, brown, black, creamy etc. But if you'll would insist only green or red then in that case i would go with green. If at all you'll decide to go in for red go for a dull red color and not a bright one.

Not seeing the actual color of the siding, I would say the green. Personally though I always like a neatral color. Like a brown. But I don't really know if red would look good with light green. I like what the other person said, like a cranberry, might not be so bad. Best of luck to you guys.
